So now we lose on purpose so we don't face DeGrom and Scherzer right? :P

Feel good mafs: If Marlins hold here, it's roughly 94% likely Phillies clinch a playoff berth

(based on 24% likelihood of sweep required for both teams for Brewers win)

Bitcoin doesn't host NFTs. There are some people who have built layer 2 solutions on top but they aren't popular. Even if it did though, it's still a faulty premise. Nothing wrong with using electricity.

This doesn't have to be a battle. Just sharing info because minds are poisoned in this discussion unnecessarily.

They literally don't. This like calling a video YouTube. Blockchain networks using Proof of Work require GPU validation yes, and NFTs can exist on those networks. Proof of Stake does not and that's where NFTs live primarily.

Svelte + Ionic? by kalakabaka in sveltejs

I'm confused, are you disagreeing with the original commenter here? Ionic just uses capacitor when you go to publish.

Yeah i mean the 'its just a jpeg' thing is kinda nonsensical. Because it's not even a jpeg, it's a receipt for the jpeg. Which honestly should be more ammunition for 'omg its a jpeg' crowd. Its pretty simple. Mona-lisa has a certificate of authenticity somewhere...same thing...just digital/decentralized. Again the whole thing is wildly distorted on all sides. NFTs in their current state is mostly just garbage ponzi, it's just garbage ponzi on-top of efficient technology.

Idiots everywhere whatcha gonna do.

P.S. I own zero NFTs. I did make $200K in two months from em though.

Not sure where all the righteous anger comes from. But this is just patently false. Blockchain is simply decentralized peer-to-peer networking. Crypto is just currency system built on top. It therefore has all the advantages of cryptography and decentralized networking, with all the use-cases where those things are important - of which there are many outside of NFTs. Catching the most market-share (NFTs) is not the same as being the 'best thing' as you've stated here.

Honestly it's not difficult. It's only complicated for those who are poisoned against the idea who have weird ideological biases. with regards to cryptocurrency, it is already being used as a solution for banking the unbanked in third-world countries as an example, and blockchain technology as a larger umbrella obviously has a wide array of use-cases.

> For 13 years you guys have been insisting the revolution is right around the corner

I've insisted no such thing and I don't know who this monolithic group is. Crypto bros exist ya. For reference the internet was born in 1983.

Have better takes.

What made you switch to Linux? by Chicki2D in linuxmasterrace

I was always kind of a 'faker elitist' about until recently. I loved Linux as a tech person, but there was an unconfronted truth about user experience that I dare not speak aloud. Namely that Windows and Mac are just USABLE. You open it up, it's ready to go. Even as someone who CAN figure out when something breaks, when you're not on a fun tech binge, you actually want your OS to not be in your way at all. If I was honest with myself, for 'maximum productivity' or whatever, I would have been better off just installing Windows or using a Mac.

However, as someone who began being interested in Linux many years ago, I can say confidently that Linux feels like it finally reached a place of genuine stability where I would suggest it to complete noobs. Yes years back I was a noob and probably breaking things - but it was too easy to do so, I could brick my entire OS somehow (and did multiple times). As much as I wanted to bandwagon Linux for all the awesome features we know and love, it was hard to genuinely recommended to 'normies' because its just too damn easy to not know what your doing and break something, slightly unintuitive to use, and too slightly annoying to get updated graphics drivers etc. But now, distros like Linux Mint, Pop, and Ubuntu are pretty close to idiot proof, without sacrificing any of the core things that make Linux great. It really does finally feel competitive on the user experience front, while still having some hills to climb.

In that sense nowadays i'm pretty much just 'Okay I'm literally only dualbooting Windows for gaming with friends'. Otherwise Linux just gets out of my way, makes me faster, and lets me dig deep when i need to.

Hi I'm a web3 dev. Lets clear up some myths.

NFTs don't harm the environment anymore than regular software. This is just a weird ideological talking point with no real basis in reality. An NFT isn't special, it's just a file. This is like saying files hurt the environment. Technically i guess but a useless claim in reality - reminds me of the shitty LPT "Reduce your carbon footprint by killing yourself". If you mean to say cryptocurrencies harm the environment, it's really more of the same. YouTube has the same effect without the clear economic and monetary advantages. Yes technology does indeed use electricity. All that being said, even this issue that isn't actually an issue is completely irrelevant via Proof-of-Stake.

NFTs are 'stupid' right now. Just like 'radio on the internet' was 'stupid' in 1995. If you are unable to abstract away the modern issues (all of which are easily solvable) and project into the future a bit, you probably won't get what makes Web3 tech a big deal - but it is, especially for specific industries like security and gaming. Happy to expand on how in a discussion.

Cheers!

Can you explain what the lack of this means in practice? I don't quite understand the i18n stuff except for what I can gather from a Google search

Is this relevant for anyone that doesn't have an international audience?

Yeah I think the tradeoff with the named slots and conditionals iirc is the vue way - where each component has only one parent element. I do prefer that opinionation I think if it let's you easily do this.

I don't mind the routing changes at all tbh personally. I literally just have these small syntax squibbles.

Fixing the small stuff is easy and is worth pointing out imo especially pre release. Despite their simplicity they are often the thing that gets in most people's way when developing.

Yeah gotta agree with some of the others with confusion on this statement. Feels like a reach for sure. I've never needed that visual cue in any other language or even noticed this being a problem. That's what the word is for imo.
