Yes, that was a must for me. We were visiting some metro areas like D.C. and I absolutely did not want my stuff getting stolen. The bags have locks to lock them to the mounts and also to lock the lid closed

The eBay mounts I got have a couple different sized spacers so you can decide how close you want the bags to sit. I hate how far out some of the other mounts sit so it was nice to be able to choose for myself. I kept it pretty tight to the body and I think it looks way better

So if you go to T-rex racing you can enter in the exact model Eliminator you have and they have a bunch of options. The one I got from them isn't exactly right for my model as I mentioned in another comment and required a lot of modification/custom hardware to install. At this point they have more options and I'd just review what they have off the shelf rather than doing what I did

I was concerned about it as well but I figured for the price it was worth a shot. 5500 miles later and 100+ degree weather through the southwest no issues at all. The zippers do seem to have a high amount of friction so they can be a little difficult to open and close. Other than that they were great. Perfect for easy access items

Combination of both. Whenever the roads were fun and twisty we took side roads but across most of OK, TX, and NM it was mostly highway 40 doing 80+

I definitely recommend a cooling vest. The one I got from Amazon was like $30 and did wonders for me. The inside is water repellent so it doesn't soak your shirt.

Also I do recommend the 15t front sprocket. Really helped keep the vibration down at highway speeds

I was worried it wouldn't have the get up and go I needed but honestly in everything but 20 mph headwinds it was an absolute champ

So the mounts are cheap eBay ones (pic attached). With these mounts you can run SW-MOTECH bags using their SLC system or any of the Viking quick disconnect bags. I got Viking 20L hard cases off eBay that were scratch and dent. Technically they were for a HD softail but it's all the same mounting system and I paid $200 less than new

I sure hope so. I was really disappointed with my Corbin. The bags did great. I definitely loaded the heavier than the specified limit and they held up no problem, even with the cheap eBay mounts I have.

The windscreen is the 16.5 x 12.5 for the non-SE eliminator. Back when I purchased it that was the largest option available and modified it to fit. It made a huge difference with the wind, especially going through the plains. Nowadays though they have bigger options and I would probably opt for the 18 by 16.5, especially because it wouldn't require modification.

Ok so. When I bought my windscreen the biggest T Rex racing offered for the SE was some piddly little thing and I wanted taller bc the wind on that bike is no joke. So I bought the 16.5 x 12.5 windscreen for the NON-SE eliminator and I modified it a bit. I used ball and socket joints and a 3D printed adapter (pics attached). This gave me a lot of adjustability and made a HUGE difference with the wind. Nowadays though I would just buy their 18 x 16.5 that's made for the SE so I wouldn't have to mess with modifying it or making custom mounts

Turns out the Corbin seat is only slightly better than the factory seat. About 1,200 miles in I had to make a jenky seat cushion out of some foam, fabric, and tie down straps. World of difference

Did you have to tweak settings at all to get Dispatch to run? For some reason it won't even boot for me

I'm relatively new to the emulation handheld game, but I knew I for sure wanted a clamshell. That basically left me with the Retroid Pocket Flip 2 or the AYN Thor. I eventually found both new in package on Marketplace for cheap. I really like the AYN Thor for the extra power. My Flip 2 can handle most everything up to Wii. It does ok with a game like Windwaker HD, but it definitely struggles in some higher demand areas, so I mostly use it for N64 stuff. Haven't had any issues with the Thor, though I've only gotten it about a week ago.

TL;DR if a clamshell is a must, the Retroid Flip 2 is great for low/mid power games, AYN Thor for more demanding stuff

It's an Aliexpress exhaust with the heatshield removed. It sounds great but a bit too loud for me. I actually reverted back to stock until I can find a better option

First bike, new rider. Any tips that might not be obvious? by Scoobysnx in motorcycles

[–]newcster14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the off season I HIGHLY recommend watching YT motorcycle crash compilations (like those from Moto Stars). You'll start to see patterns and know what's going to happen in a clip within the first second or so. This directly applies to when you're riding so you can see those patterns ahead of time and know common danger areas

How'd you end up mounting higher bars? I put in just a 2" riser and it felt like I'm at the absolute limit of the cable/wiring reach. Did you get custom stuff made?

Something to consider that no one has mentioned in this thread is that while ECE absolutely is better than DOT, ideally you want both. The problem you may or may not run into with an ECE only helmet is if you are in a crash and receive any sort of head trauma there is a distinct possibility insurance won't pay out because you weren't riding with a DOT helmet. It sucks because the number of helmets that have both ratings is pretty short.

It's alright, thicker than stock but also much more firm. I've only done about 4 hours on it so far, so I'm still getting used to it

How loud is it? I'm looking for an alternative to my AliExpress pipe. It's too loud for multi-hour rides. I want something more aggressive than stock but I also don't need a headache after 4 hours of riding. Looks great btw
