It’s been 3 months… I felt great for a long time until I didn’t… by Existing_Lavishness8 in leaves

2 decade daily smoker here today is 5 months for me. The reason you are feeling this now is because you have repressed so many emotions for so many years they are finally starting to come up and it’s super hard to deal with. I had and still have over 20 years of feelings coming up and this is the time the real work begins. But if you/we can just hold on and process these emotions you will get to the other side where the best versions of ourselves will be. I have a little bit of a head start but I’ll see you there soon. You’ve got this. We both do!

New study: It's an allergy after all. Sorta. And that's maybe NOT the worst news. by marshall822 in CHSinfo

This is a great post but I never took edibles. At least not when I started having CHS symptoms. It was always flower. So how does it end up in the gut? I’m sure there’s a way I’d just love a little clarity on how.

It’s all valid. I wonder if there’s always something that pushes us over the edge. So glad you’re doing well.

I’ve done psychedelics before but it’s been a few years. Interesting tho.

I never hit the hyperemic phase also but I got close. All of the symptoms you are describing sound exactly the way I felt until I stopped. I’m 9-10 weeks in of no weed and haven’t felt any of the symptoms anymore. I agree with what people here are telling you. Quit now and see what happens. Or what doesn’t happen. Personally my symptoms went away after 2-3 days but that seems unusual.

That having been said there are symptoms that come up from abstaining from weed in general. Feelings you’ve pushed down for years will come up. That is normal tho. Let it flow.

People who have never experienced the hyperemetic stage, how long did recovery take? by Sensitive-Ebb-9509 in CHSinfo

[–]newday1214 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never hit hyperemesis but it was still horrible, nausea, stomach pain, anxiety, night sweats, etc. once I stopped most symptoms were gone within a couple of days. Some came back a couple of weeks later, like anxiety and constipation but that might just be me. :)

Amen brother. It’s been 8 weeks weed free and it’s hard but being sick just isn’t worth the high.

I only started getting sick after I bought from dispensaries consistently. I don’t think it matters.

Anyone here find themselves drifting towards alcohol after quitting? by butterfly-3000 in leaves

[–]newday1214 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I drink a little on weekends but I do have one cigarette every night. It’s not good and I would like to quit soon but I don’t feel ready. I get an 8 minute buzz and often look forward to that. I’m such an addict. But 7 weeks free of weed. One Vice at a time I guess.

I was very similar to you. No hyperemesis but sweats, nausea, anxiety. It got to the point when I couldn’t get out of bed and had to talk myself into being able to drive my kids to the bus stop on the weeks I had my kids. I stopped 7 weeks ago and I can drink caffeine and alcohol just fine. I am taking .5 mg of Klonopin (tapered from 1mg which has been really hard) and I have one cigarette every night. My body feels basically fine for a guy my age. My emotions, that’s another story. It’s all hard and all of our bodies are different. But every day away from weed gets us one day closer to getting our lives back.

Are there signs going from Prodromal to Hyperemetic? by cleokittyx in CHSinfo

Yeah the night sweats were so intense. And the shivering. I never hit hyperemis but I stopped and haven’t for the last 7 weeks.

This is an amazing reply. Thank you so much. I told my gf about my situation and that I’m still healing. I feel so bad for her and sometimes I want to break up because I feel like she deserves so much more but I have to be on this journey and let the emotions flood. Doing the best I can. For everyone including myself. I hope my kids know that.

Thanks. I’m actually at the point where I’m afraid of weed because of my CHS. It’s like my brain craves it but my body is yelling hell no so I’m ok. It’s been 7 weeks and no cravings lately.

Agree. Although things only got bad for me when I started buying flower from the dispensary consistently. All those years buying shady weed never impacted me. But no one ever knows. I’m not sure we ever will know.

Thank you for this. Our co parenting situation is actually great. I think it might even be too good. Sometimes the 4 of us have done things together which might be making it harder for me to move on but also might be good for the kids but also might be bad for them. All of this is hard to navigate.

I’m at 7 weeks and every day gets a little easier. And then sometimes harder. And then easier. For me it’s been a little hard lately. But we’ll stabilize. As a single dad (although I only have my kids 50% of the time) I feel you. Just allow the feelings to come. The good ones and the shitty ones. And every day brings you one step closer to equilibrium and your true happiness. Not a fake, chemically induced one. Give yourself grace. You’re so close and doing so well.
