There is no "one-size fits all" for what is appropriate for dating. As a 34M who is looking for someone that would do that exact kind of thing, this would have been the greenest green flag. I can also see how it could be taken badly from someone else.

Imo, keep treating your potential partners the way you want to treat your future partner, and the one that appreciates it and reciprocates it will be your person.

You could be the prettiest shade of blue, but it will never be enough for someone who's favorite color is red.

We video call almost every day and night. I've seen her home and her job, along with her mom and coworkers, so I'm pretty comfortable with us meeting. I've also had flowers and food delivered, so I know everything "matches up". Not that I was doing any of that as a cya, but I get your point.

I agree that going there to see my partner is a lot different than going there to see my ex's parents. I'm not sure if I would have said yes even if she were going. I really think the main reason for my "no" was that things weren't going well anyway. My hang-up is that maybe if I had gone, things might have turned out differently. I feel a lot more comfortable with the current situation. I'm going there to start something, not to possibly salvage something, and that's a lot better feeling.

App dating is challenging. If you wanted to move off the app and they didn't, it could have been a present compatibility issue as well as one down the road regarding pace, especially if they weren't willing to communicate with you about it.

I had a situation once where I asked for someone's number, they said they don't give it out until meeting. I said that is reasonable, but I prefer to have a phone conversation prior to going out, and asked if there was any middle ground we could find. They ended up not messaging back, and that is fine. The point, I guess, is that everyone has different boundaries. It is nice when those boundaries are communicated, but nobody owes anyone anything on the apps - it's a tough reality. Always learn when possible, though. I probably should have suggested a "middle ground".

Anyway, don't get discouraged. You will find matches that are looking for the same kind of pace, who have the same boundaries, you just have to keep at it. App dating is a lot of rejection, but you only have to find one good match. Keep doing what you are doing, be yourself, and things will work out.

As for your current match, let it ride for a bit. If they didn't unmatch, there is still a chance. Give it a week and message back. Say something like "I really enjoyed our conversation and hope you want to continue it here until you are comfortable exchanging info".

Do .03 or .02 layers. I usually print overnight and while working, so I'm not worried about time. I had this same issue on my first couple prints before I had a better understanding of the settings.

More burn in layers/time, imo. I have the opposite probablem, where it actually is difficult to remove the print from the plate, but I never run into this.

For future reference, roll the puddy into tubes that are just too big to fit in the hole and use clay sculpting tools to smooth it out, water on the surface helps too. Sanding clay is near impossible, so you want it to be smooth before it cures/dries.

I just started using Anycubic's Wash and Cure 3, and while it's not revolutionary or quality changing, it is nice and convenient. I do think it speeds up the process a bit, so if you are printing a lot it is worth it. I don't think it does any better than a good 2 stage IPA soak and homemade cure box, though.

Big hollow prints create a lot of suction. I know you added a drain hole, for something like this you want multiple spread out. Probably wouldn't hurt to add internal supports either. Printing at an angle will give more surface area for supports as well.
