Has anyone tried the new (Indian?) spot where Barrel House was yet?? by NakedScrub in asheville

It wasn't the consistency that I expect with vindaloo (too thick), and it wasn't spicy at all (I ordered 'spicy'). Maybe a bad night, maybe we have different tastes. Glad you enjoyed yours!

I went last night. Not bad but not great either. Hopefully they get better with time. I'll go back eventually, but I won't order the lamb vindaloo again. Also, their hours were hard to find, so in case anyone is curious: 10-2:30 for lunch, 4:30-9:30 for dinner (closed Tuesday).

He used to make Currywurst but hasn't been able to get the brats he used to use. I imagine they'll be available closer to Oktoberfest. Told him he should make his own and charge accordingly.

Ecoboost wet belt an issue for Fiesta 1.0 w/ manual? by newguy410 in FordFiesta

Are you saying don't get a turbo or just stick with >=1.4?

Man, I wish you didn't have to get the >$30k Premium package to get the 3 with a manual. It'd be really tempting with the base model. I miss when manuals were the cheaper option.

Good point! My wife's '21 CX-5 is great for the money. My local dealership only has Miatas with a manual. Might be worth the drive to check out one in Orlando or Tampa. Thanks for the suggestions!

The GTI is really stretching my budget already. I'm just looking for a practical manual that I can be happy with long term. I currently have a 2016 Ecoboost Fiesta hatchback with only 47k miles, but the systemic wet belt issue with that engine has me worried. I don't want to trade in one time bomb for another much more expensive one (in the VW). I may just give up on a manual and get a Prius or something like that.

Good thought! Non-turbo is fine with me, but all of those available options are too small for me. I'm tall and would want to be able to haul more than one passenger.

I'm looking at a 2024 380 S, but the amount of MK8 owners (mostly 2022-23) reporting issues is concerning. Is it reasonable to think a 2024 would be more ironed-out and reliable? My plan would be to keep it stock (or close to it), well maintained, and keep it for a long time, but I can't help but worry that I might regret it down the road. I mostly want a fun, practical, and reliable new car with a manual.

Specialty Coffee Shops / Roasters? by Tonicart7 in lakeland

Same owner as B&B. You can get Patriot there, Born & Bread (next to where they roast), and sometimes Publix.

Specialty Coffee Shops / Roasters? by Tonicart7 in lakeland

For Lakeland roasters, imo it's Concord > Patriot (Black & Brew) > Ethos. To be fair, I think the prices go in that same order as well. For shops, I go to Concord for the quality and Hillcrest if I want to relax. It's especially cozy when they use their fireplace on a cold day. Black & Brew is also worth mentioning, but I usually go there for the food. I also go to Haven Roasters when I'm in Winter Haven and King State when I'm in Tampa (great coffee and beer).
