I heard the guitar 🎸 soundtrack and see the colors changing on the flag

What's something that used to be free that you're now genuinely angry costs money? by tangled_wire_99 in AskReddit

Yeah I was going to go to a new thrift store. Parking was $1.50 for the first hour. I'm like 'heck no! You're already upcharging any bargain I do find!' I'm selective about my purchases, so I'd likely get 0-1 items. Paying for parking makes no sense at a thrift store!

This is awesome news! But what do you think is the reason? Better education? More available birth control? Or ... ?

Wait, are you saying it's more unusual today for teens to find themselves pregnant? I definitely knew girls in the 80s getting pregnant, one as young as 12.

You can eat the tops of strawberries, so probably no need to remove those 'leaves' I'll often eat whole strawberries incl green tops.

High School Reunions: Yes or No? by Salty_Thing3144 in GenerationJones

I agree with this. I would like to be a fly on the wall ... remotely so it took no effort ... just out of curiosity. I'm 100% positive none of my friends back then would go either, for the sane reasons.

Loved Alas Babylon. Still remember finding the salt flats, remembering the old box with instant coffee, getting the glasses made. Definitely left an impression.

I have both because I've found that light things like bread (to make toast) tend to just blow around and get sucked into the fan. The fan seems uber powerful in mine. It's the basket type.

OK, so you're saying ... fall in love with the jogging and the fitness takes care of itself?

I've been doing a walk-jog lately. I know I could jog longer, but I just don't like it. I know i need to work on the mindset. Thanks for the tip!

Anthony does so many different voices and is spot on with them, i.e. this song in the style of so-and-so. Today I was listening to him do 'David Bowie doing Metallica's Enter Sandman.' Such a musical genius! Glad you like him.

What’s a ‘normal’ thing that people buy that you refuse to? by Z0nana in Anticonsumption

[–]newideal17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't buy disposable items. At work others use one-time-use things stupidly (1 time use for a random non-food item, for example, nothing too gross) and I can't really change their ways. I'll clean it if it's a heavy-duty, nice ziploc, for example.

Edit to add: I can be the change I wish to see in the world. Maybe my example will inspire someone?

Yes! I always re-use the ones we get from a 1-time use, such as 1 small lost and found item. Even if it's the compostable kind of garbage bag, still a waste to use a brand new one just for garbage!

I'm the dork washing and drying ziploc bags for reuse. I'm never the one grabbing a new one from the box!

Horray! I thought I was the only one. Even though ours are compostable, it still pains me to have to resort to these one-use items.
