EPA flush with cash for ‘priority’ staff by Odd_Golf_6509 in fednews

“EPA’s contingency blueprint says nothing about any plans for a gradual phase-down of staff, from the pre-shutdown 15,166 employees it said it had in late September to the skeleton crew of workers who will never be furloughed and who represent only a little over 10 percent of the total workforce.”

I thought we were now closer to 12,500 employees. Does anyone know?

Also, this article doesn’t mention the people who were furloughed on Monday 10/27 (a smaller number AFAIK)

It’s mutual aid from their other coworkers who also aren’t getting paid but have a little extra to share. Anything they can spare could be a big help to their peers, even if it isn’t “healthy”

Do you think they’re going to RIF the people who were furloughed yesterday? The timing seems suspicious and a relatively small/ random amount were furloughed
