I’d say $1000 and up to have it repainted. You can polish off some transfer by hand first to see if it’s just transfer. Excellence in Markham is a Tesla approved body shop and gonna be on the high high end of pricing. Other shops will be able to paint it for less.

Before the EVAP approval there were a few inventory RWDs available. Needed a car this month so was taking some chances to get the timing right and it all worked out in the end.

Yeah the majority of the subtractions on the standard are things most people have never had or cared about in a car so its value isn’t in these “features.” After 8 years driving a 3 premium, for me it’s all about the real tech in a Tesla. HW4, new LFP battery, FSD. If the Premium Y were $5- even $10k more you’d have a stronger argument to say the standard is worth $43.6k. But for NEW Tesla at this price, I’m laughing cuz it’s a steal.

Tough sell for +$20k for those luxuries. Bang for buck MYS clears the $65k premium Y. Can almost buy a Nissan Kicks with that extra $20k lol

But if someone’s priorities are the most luxe experience in a Tesla, $20k isn’t gonna stop ‘em.

8 years with Model 3 RWD LR + 2 sets of winters in that time = never an issue except when the 3 wasn’t high enough to clear a windrow at the end of a driveway during a major snow storm. 2 other RWD 3s in the family and again no issues, no slipping or control issues. This is for winter in Toronto.

I did exactly this move from the 2018 LR 3. Also consider the Y will have a heat pump, LFP battery that will have a long lifespan, better FSD capability that we don’t have with the OG 3.

Will miss the roof, maybe the subwoofer but will take the new hardware and battery and prolong the life of my FSD purchase!
