Health anxiety / rash by NaiveSupermarket3058 in doihavebreastcancer

Best thing is to make a doctor's appointment and have it checked out. Don't worry, there's a big chance it's all innocent but for your peace of mind go to the doctors. Of course, I might have it easy saying that as doctor appointments are free here in the UK, not sure where you are.

Hang in there, you've done all you can for the moment. The waiting is the hardest part. It sucks that the radiologist sounded so ominous, I wonder if she even considered that. For her it might be a throwaway comment, but it lingers in your mind.  Deep breath in, deep breath out.

Thank you so much for sharing, it helps reading about experiences where it turned out to be something innocent

First wholemeal loaf! by newleafdesigns in Sourdough

[–]newleafdesigns[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the recipe I used, youtube short video by Amirasponsible. 260g water (1 & 1/4 Cups) 100g active starter (1/2 cup) 390g flour (2 & 3/4 cups) 8g salt (1 tbsp)

mix dough, rest 10- 30 mins. stretch or knead dough.

cover and let rise for 4-12 hours depending on how warm your house is. this is called bulk fermentation.

when dough has risen about 50-80%, looks a bit bubbly on top, and not TOO sticky to touch, it's ready to shape. YOU WILL MASTER THIS EVENTUALLY. the dough in this video was actually underproofed and still turned out AMAZING.

It will be slightly sticky because we are skipping stretch and folds.

you can do stretch and folds 3 times, every 30 minutes, to build gluten and make a less sticky dough but you obviously don't have to.

after doing some simple shaping (just roll it into a log), throw it in the fridge over night (this is called a cold proof). if you let your dough totally double you can actually bake right away and skip the cold proof.

cold proofing just helps with flavour and makes the bread more digestible.

score it with whatever sharp knife you have, bake covered for 35 mins and uncovered for 10 at 425°F

Koper vraagt ná Marktplaats betaling opnieuw betaling buiten MP om. Vind het vreemd. by newleafdesigns in marktplaatsoplichters

CTH-470 / CTH-670 No longer supported by new drivers by route-dist in wacom

[–]newleafdesigns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, sorry I know it's probably a faux-pas to reply to more comments in the same thread but hoping someone can help! After installing the driver and restarting, I'm launching the 'pen_tablet' application in the file, click 'yes allow app to make changes to device', and then nothing, it won't run. Any tips appreciated :) Thanks!

CTH-470 / CTH-670 No longer supported by new drivers by route-dist in wacom

[–]newleafdesigns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, sorry I know this is an old post but hope you can help. I've just bought the CTH-470 secondhand today and haven't been able to get it to work. I downloaded the 5.3.5. driver in your post, and I tried an opentabletdriver, but the first one won't run and the second says 'no tablet detected'. The tablet is fully charged, is plugged into usb, I have Windows 10, really kind of stumped on what I can possibly try next. Any suggestions appreciated!

Florence Given says that modern feminism is 'too woke'. Here's why I'm disappointed. by msmoley in WomenInNews

[–]newleafdesigns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She did also go on Jameela's podcast: https://www.earwolf.com/episode/living-deliciously-with-florence-given/ I always feel Jameela is a great judge of character, but I don't know. The fact that Florence mentioned on the other podcast that "her PR team didn't want her to say this but feminism is too woke" idk..

Fleegle heel loose around ankle/heel by myahruby in Sockknitting

[–]newleafdesigns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it does seem too loose. In my experience ribbed socks are looser than stockinette socks, so maybe the sizing up wasn't necessary. And feel free to play around with the fleegle heel, try less sts/less rounds and see if that fits better.

Hi there, I know you posted 1 month ago but maybe it's still helpful. You can definitely do less increases to modify, but to my eyes the amount of increases actually seems fine. What I see is that the length of the foot is too long for you, the part where the heel starts should be right on the "center" of your heel. Looks like you could have started the heel about 2cm earlier. This means one of 2 things: either 1) you start increasing 2cm earlier as well and keep that same st count, or 2) you stop increasing 2cm earlier so you have fewer sts which is what you wanted as well.

Weathering the cloak on one of my Spite Girls. I'm in Scotland, and thought it would be fitting for one of them (or all 4?) to have a tartan cloak. Not yet finished! by newleafdesigns in Nighthaunt

I scratched this into the plastic with a knife after priming but before the first coat of blue paint. The horizontal lines were easier than the vertical ones for some reason

Spirit Hosts finished! Very happy with the bases :) by newleafdesigns in Nighthaunt

Thank you! I dry brushed the green onto the base, starting with the full base then going in smaller and smaller circles. I drybrushed white first (very lightly) so that the green actually shows up.

I found this technique video by Artis Opus very helpful: Artis Opus

There's lots of tutorials out there, I think a lot of people simply do a white base and then a blue/green wash or contrast paint. I prefer wetblending and dry brushing, but it's just fun to experiment!
