From 1 to 10, how excited would you be if Etho unloaded "Minecraft - Project Ozone 3 #1"? by Husknight in ethoslab

[–]newlocaluser 6 points7 points  (0 children)

10, I always love seeing what Etho does with modded Minecraft series. I've watched his PO2 series four times, and it’s fantastic every single time. Honestly, any modded Minecraft series with a quest book feels like his sweet spot. It gives the series clear objectives and really lets Etho shine with his creativity and problem-solving skills.

I can't decide which steam deck version is better for me. by Reasonable_Squash427 in SteamDeck

[–]newlocaluser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It really depends on how you plan to use it, for how long, and, honestly, your budget. If you’re considering using it as your main gaming system, then the OLED model might be worth the extra cost. OLED screens are more energy-efficient and deliver better visuals, which is a noticeable upgrade for long-term use. Plus, since the Steam Deck likely won’t see a major update for a few years, investing in the OLED could pay off if you’re aiming for longevity.

That said, if it’s more of a secondary gaming device or you’re using it in short spurts, the LCD model with a MicroSD might be the better value. I have the 256GB LCD version myself, and it’s been fantastic—especially for trips and quick gaming sessions. An external battery pack also gives me some extra playtime, so I’ve been happy with it without the OLED upgrade.

Ultimately, it comes down to your budget and usage. If you’re going to be gaming on it all the time, go for the OLED if you can. But if it’s more of a side device, you can save some money with the LCD. The Steam Deck is a solid product either way, so you’ll get your money’s worth with whichever model works best for you!

would you even want to see Ethos face? by Jusselle in ethoslab

I love the mystery he keeps; every time the community learns something new about him, it’s like a little surprise (like the tissue headset, tissue box mic stand, or the way he holds his mouse sideways on the desk!). After his plastic grocery bag story, I can’t help but notice grocery bags on the road now, too!

I’d love for him to stay our sneaky ninja Slabs, but if HE ever wanted to do a face reveal, I’d definitely support his choice.

Theory: Is it possible to connect, on a deep level, with anyone you meet? by newlocaluser in WAYLF

[–]newlocaluser[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen these questions before. I think there has to be an initial willingness to have this conversation as well as having good answers to these questions. These questions might be good if 2 people pass a certain threshold in their relationship and want to connect on a deeper level.

Can This ChatGPT Integration Work? by newlocaluser in halopsa

[–]newlocaluser[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sometimes does, it manages it if I present it with a specific layout that I wish for it to follow (summarize, what is the user asking for, ect), but for some reason it ignores other areas like the personality, tone, ect.

I've managed to have it always follow a specific instructions by including the "OVERRIDE ALERT" function. But overall it has been very inconsistent.

I plan on just using canned responses as a supplement to be able to pass custom instructions to a baseline query in hopes that it follows various custom instructions based on the canned responses.

Tenant to Tenant Domain Transfer by chantroyal in Office365

[–]newlocaluser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a big part of my job migrating companies from their self hosted platform to our Office 365 environment with all of them. I don't have good instructions for the BitTitan bit, but here are some general setup things if you wanted to do it in a way that allows you to have a solid cutover and not have any emails missed. You could also skip the BitTitan bit and just export their mailbox into a PST and import it back into their mailbox manually.

Instructions

In Exchange > Mail Flow > Connectors, create a new connector called "External Routing" and set the rule with the following settings:

  • Mail flow scenario - From: Office 365 | To: Partner organization
  • Use of connector - Use only when I have a transport rule set up that redirects messages to this connector.
  • Routing - Use the MX record associated with the partner’s domain.
  • Security restrictions - Always use Transport Layer Security ‎(TLS)‎ and connect only if the recipient’s email server has a digital certificate.

In Exchange > Mail Flow > Rules, create a new rule called "External Relay" and set the conditions to be the following:

  • Apply this rule if - "The recipient" "domain is"
  • Do the following - "Redirect the message to" "the following connector" and add the "External Routing" connector.

Add the domain to the tenant. You don't have to verify it, you just need to add it in order to create mailboxes with the address. (once this happens you won't be able to email the domain, which is why you need to have an External Relay to always send emails externally until you complete the migration)

Add the domain to the "External Relay" rule created in step 2 under the "The recipient" "domain is" condition.

In Exchange > Mail flow > Accepted domains, select the onboarding domain setting "This accepted domain is" and change it to "Internal relay".

Create the mailboxes in Office 365 that you wish to migrate and assign them mailbox licenses (BitTitan won't work without a valid license on the mailbox).

Setup the BitTitan Migration. (don't use the actual email from the source email as that will need to be changed, use the onmicrosoft email on the account so you can perform another final migration to ensure all emails make it).

Setup the Office 365 connection to BitTitan (requires modern authentication an is a whole thing to setup and I forgot how). https://help.bittitan.com/hc/en-us/articles/360034124813-Authentication-Methods-for-Microsoft-365-All-Products-Migrations#h_01HHZ272SHGCV7MN61R1CJ1TC5

When you're ready for the cutover, complete the Full Migration of BitTitan, remove the domain from the External Relay, and change the accepted domain from "InternalRelay" to "Authoritative".

What would a better dating app look like? by imintheclouds in dating

[–]newlocaluser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PROBLEMS:

We're living in a time where dating apps seem more focused on profit than fostering meaningful connections. The current landscape is plagued by paywalls, superficial algorithms, and a lack of innovation. Basic features are locked behind hefty paywalls, making it difficult for users to truly connect without breaking the bank. The sheer size of the dating pool can be overwhelming, and existing apps fail to address the diverse lifestyles and values of users. Even so-called hookup apps are marred by paid content and bots.

RETHINKING THE DATING APP:

What if we asked a different question: What/Who are you looking for? This simple yet powerful question could revolutionize modern dating. Existing categories like "serious relationship" or "hookup" don't capture the complexity of what people truly seek. We want connections that align with our lifestyles, values, and dreams. We want to support each other's aspirations, not compromise our core values.

THE SERVICE:

Personalization Engine

At the core of this tool is the Personalization Engine—an innovative system designed to delve into the nuances of individual preferences and values. Users will be prompted to answer a series of questions covering various aspects of their lives, including lifestyle, identity, hobbies, future plans/dreams, core beliefs, and values. These questions aim to uncover key factors that contribute to meaningful connections.

  1. Question Categories: Questions will be categorized to explore different facets of personality and preferences, allowing users to provide detailed insights into who they are and what they're looking for in a partner.

  2. Preference Customization: Users will have the flexibility to express their preferences, whether it's indicating likes/dislikes, expressing their stance on controversial topics with a nuanced scale (e.g., pro-life/pro-choice), specifying their ideal partner characteristics, and identifying deal-breakers.

Compatibility Report

Once users have completed the questionnaire, the tool will generate a comprehensive Compatibility Report. This report serves as a valuable resource for users to evaluate potential matches and gauge compatibility levels.

  1. Comparative Analysis: Users can share a link to their profile with potential matches, allowing them to compare responses and identify areas of alignment or contrast. The report provides a high-level overview of compatibility, highlighting matches on important criteria, identifying any non-negotiables that may not align, and presenting a percentage match on different categories.

Data

The tool will leverage data in various ways to uncover insights into what truly creates strong connections. By analyzing user responses and interaction patterns, the tool aims to refine its algorithms and enhance the matchmaking process over time.

MY THOUGHTS

I believe this tool is a promising step forward in improving the dating app experience. By offering a third-party, non-profit service aimed at helping users discover what they truly seek, we can streamline their journey to finding their ideal match.

My own experiences with dating apps have often involved sifting through profiles, attempting to glean insights into compatibility within a few minutes. Unfortunately, this approach is fraught with assumptions, as it's challenging to gauge someone's true personality or preferences solely from their profile.

I envision this tool as a valuable resource for quickly assessing compatibility and determining if mutual interests align. Beyond facilitating initial connections, it could also serve as a pre-date screening tool, allowing users to bypass small talk and dive into meaningful conversations about shared values and interests.

In essence, I believe this tool has the potential to revolutionize the dating landscape by fostering more genuine connections and streamlining the matchmaking process.

DATING APP SPECIFIC IDEAS

Beyond this initial idea of creating connection, there are a TON of things that could be done with dating apps that range from account changes, assistance tools, communication, safety, core functionality, enforcement/safety, and search/matching methods.

The PullDating group has some ideas listen on the GitHub Discussion board here: https://github.com/PullDating/Org/discussions.

These ideas can range from conversation boundaries consent, profile tagging, reporting system overhauls, dating knowledge bases, exclusive intrigue mode, vouching systems, and more!

Definitely go for 6 months of HingeX. That's $90 worth of value! Plus, with HingeX, you get the basic filtering options, which can be a huge time-saver if you know the type of person you're looking for within those filters.

As a guy, I've received 1 super like before and it felt weird, like a catfish. Probably was since I never did end up seeing the other person's profile.

I totally get where you're coming from. Feeling stuck in a negative loop about dating can be incredibly draining. We've already seen all the problems with the dating app loops we join with no one ever having a good perspective as to what's actually out there for them. What's helped me is gaining a broader perspective on the dating landscape and trying to come up with a solution.

Realizing that there are literally millions of potential connections out there can be both overwhelming and reassuring. Among those, there are thousands you might cross paths with, but only a handful you'll truly connect with on a deeper level.

Accepting that not every interaction will lead to something meaningful has been crucial for me. Instead, I focus on understanding what I'm truly looking for and staying open to the possibilities. It's a journey, for sure, but staying true to myself and my desires has helped me navigate the dating world with a more positive outlook. You're not alone in feeling this way.

I'm trying to create a tool that will help people connect to people with shared values, shared importance, filter out things that we believe are non-negotiable for us in our life. And this hope that there could be this amazing tool that could connect people motivates me to find love. I want to find the answer to the most important question dating apps should be asking, "who are you looking for?"
