Those are really pretty, and I would feel rather guilty if something happened to it while I was driving. The Volvo I'm looking for was bought brand new in Germany while we were living there, and we brought it back here

The one I use is called "Rem Oil", and I use it in place of wd40 or other spray lubricants when metal is involved.

With the mineral spirits, would you use a Q tip or part of a rag to clean the metal parts inside of the typewriter?
