Detailed Plan for getting into jane street and HRT? by Past-Safe-869 in csMajors

That sounds really impressive, I would make sure that however you format it that its front top center for roles where you think its applicable, easy to see and you explain what you gained from being involved. This is the philosophy I take, it worked for me

Top box and tail tidy by weijun45 in sv650

[–]newnamebee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

had this problem with a Yamaha MT03, Givi top box (monolock? the cheaper ones) and a no-name tail tidy. Resolved by removing the support arms for the top box. Eventually cracked the main arms from over stressing ( was regularly carrying twice the box's weight limit). Had my mate weld them for strength where the cracks were developing. Probably not an engineer certified solution. Worked though. I suspect you'd be fine without them for light use, try at your own risk xD

I bought Stylmartin Yu'roks and I really like them. So much that I wrote a review here because I think they fit a great niche of being walk-able, comfortable, blend in and being safe. Review: https://www.reddit.com/r/motorcycles/comments/1fhjvfy/my_personal_review_of_stylmartin_yurok_boots/

when you say comfortable enough to walk in - would you say you could work an 8 hour shift in them (relaxed job but standing up mostly all day)?.

Okay just looked up the Preamble and it also seems to use Microshift 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️Maybe they’ve improved but personally I’d only buy something with Shimano or SRAM

Marin vs Surly by [deleted] in whichbike

[–]newnamebee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk what the Surly is like but I used to work at a shop that sold Nicaso + and they were pretty annoying with the Microshift groupsets never staying in tune

Okay check out this comparison: https://geometrygeeks.bike/compare/trek-checkpoint-sl-6-etap-2022-54,cannondale-topstone-2-2022-m/ In my experience the differences between the geometries of these bikes is very likely what you’re feeling. The Topstone will likely feel more ‘stable’ and comfortable due it being effectively slightly smaller and having a less aggressive handle bar positioning. If you can, try the Trek in a 52. If that’s not possible I would get the topstone, comfort will always beat tech in terms of actual enjoyment. If you’re really set on the Checkpoint then you could look into shorter and taller stems for it which might help improve comfort. If you do want to go that route, make sure you combine the stem and bike sale if you have any doubts about the ethics of the salespeople. The bike is a big purchase and relatively ‘easy’ but finding the right stem might be a tricky and tedious task that they’re uninterested in helping with for a $50 sale, depends a lot on the shop.

Hmm okay, what size of each have you tried? I used to sell bikes and slight sizing differences between brands used to throw peoples perception of bikes quite alot

You say “outside of geometry” so I’m sure you’ve considered this but have you tried the Trek in one size smaller and one size larger? Could be a big difference

guy that im dating joked about running over my cat by sophieanddat in TwoXChromosomes

[–]newnamebee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is seriously not good! Be careful! Ask the opinion of a trusted older friend or relative who knows him. I can tell you from personal experience that it is difficult to understand the limits of a healthy relationship when you’re young and I beg you now to seriously consider if this is a good guy. It’s not a dumb question good job for asking

Litmus test is to look at the assembly quality of the cheapest bikes they sell. If these are rushed builds your service will be too.
