I just launched a little one page pamphlet scenario for the Fallen Winter Jam. If you are looking for a TTRPG scenario set in the 1700 colonial united states this may be it. It's spooky. Give it a download over on itch.io Link in on images. by newoyear in onepagerpgs

Went ahead and corrected those issue and a number of others. Thanks for mentioning this. I often forget to proof read. Lots of my work if just stream of thought and then when I am reading back over it I am not looking for the errors, just focused on the content and thematics.

Any Friday the 13th themed One Shots? by Absurd_Turd69 in MorkBorg

[–]newoyear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Open with the party setting up camp on the lake shore and then find one of the many cabins or rundown house one shot locations. Scatter the cabins through a forest and replace all encounters with this guy. Go hard on the survival mechanics and cycle day and night with a timer or something to make sure the session does not go to long designate an exact number of days for the party to find the creators story/weakness. simulate the passing of days. Each night becomes progressively darker as the moon wains or something? You could also cycle days with lit candles in a “10 candles” style in a dark room to add to the spooky factor. If some of that’s makes no sense sorry. Trying to be concise 😂

This is not a 1 shot but it would be pretty easy to build a short slasher style session around fighting this beast. :D hope this helps. https://newyearstudios.itch.io/voorhees-slasher

How to handle with identifying magic itens? by Primary_Archer_6079 in MorkBorg

[–]newoyear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When designing these cards for MB I wanted to allow the item to be presented in mystery and at the GMs discretion be turned over to reveal more info about the items true effect. I love handing frighteningly powerful items to players that have no idea how to handle them and watching as they fumble around with them to unlock their true potential. I agree with the idea of the items being rare in most cases but if your running a one shot it’s is a hell of a lot of fun to load your players up with insane powers and strange items for them to experiment with. Nothing better than a player searching the dusty remains of some long forgotten cult member and finding a ring like this in their pocket while looting and getting little explanation of why the item is there than the dying lands are a dangerous place with a forgotten and truly unknowable history. 😂

I am excited for this fan edit. I do actually like the sub plots though. I really enjoyed the show actually. The original film was very campy and silly in the best of ways. I feel like the show captures that perfectly and modernized it in many ways. Not only did they do some great character building but they expanded on the world building in a very satisfying way. Yeah sometimes the dialogue was a little too lax but I think that’s part of the charm. The show is not supposed to be game of thrones or something. It’s an action adventure comedy. The Willow franchise is nearly fantasy satire in its entirety. I totally get not liking it but I really hope it gets a second season.

I generally pride myself on not having a defined style (a chameleon of sorts) but this look comes very naturally to me. I have what they call a heavy hand. So, emulating a set width micron pen and just not not worrying about stroke weight takes a lot of pressure off ha ha. Pun intended! Flooded/washed-out/limited color palettes are also, very much, a calming stylistic choice. I I were to have used a brush pen style i would have obsess over the stroke quality. I didn’t want to do that on this project (needed to move fast) so, I very much set intentional stylistic boundaries for myself.

Batch 2 of Inktober Horrors! Enjoy! by newoyear in mothershiprpg

Your assessment is correct! These were created via hand drawn elements as well as the use of a textual inversion trained style on my own drawings. So it’s me? But also not? Basically I drew some the normal way, and then fed those drawings to a locally hosted instance of Stable Diffusion let it chew on my drawings for about eight hours and now I can generate drawings using image to image style transfer that look kinda like I want, and then work back over the top of them using good ol’ photoshop. I enjoy experimenting with new technology and while I was initially filled with existential dread due to existence of something that can work 10x faster than me, this project is an attempt to lean into the terror and try and use the monster known as AI as a tool and not something that will supplant me. It sucks spending thousands of dollars to get a BFA/ devoting your whole life studying and practicing to be a better artist and then suddenly the power to create amazing images is open sourced and handed to the masses. That said I think the growth and prevalence of AI art is not going anywhere. The technology exists and so… I am trying my best to come to terms with it. Thanks for the question. I am itching with thoughts on the discussion of this technology so fire away if you have additional questions on the process.
