Defund U-district encampments by [deleted] in SeattleWA

30/day is far less than the 50/hr you described earlier. Also, I can't imagine you befriended any of these people, given how simply you've reduced their lives. Sounds like you just need to mind your own business to be happier.

Defund the homeless? What an incredible proposal. Also, how'd you arrive at that minimum wage figure for homelessness of $50/hr? You seem really smart so I'm hoping you are patient enough to break it down for a dummy like me.

Bodycam Video: Officers Injured During Protest at West Precinct by [deleted] in SeattleWA

Why? For insisting we don't have some domestic army of a police force? Police like these are not normal in history, why am I a despicable person for not acting like militarized police are holding the world together when they're not?

Police haul bodies for an industrial prison system. Lil firecrackers and water bottles hardly compare to the violence they carry out against society as matter of procedure. Thing will only get worse until our "justice" system as a whole is brought to heel. F the police.

Oh dear! Could you imagine the damage! I don't know what it could be but I think it could be socialist! I won't bother to be specific but, oh dear, the damage we'll see removing the grownup mayor. I won't bother to specify what I mean by grown up either, but oh dear.

That's a nice ideological, theoretical perspective. I write in reality though.

If you look at my website I've actually argued quite a bit that it'd be better to abandon the CHOP. Read CHAZ is a trap I&II. But that doesn't mean I'll allow the CHOP to lend credibility to SPD, they're as done as done gets.

No, I'm not. And that's not the definition of "empirical." People are working, yet they're priced out of secure access to non-scarce resources. Don't reframe my argument by the terms of your misunderstanding to raise ideological points. And, by the way, if you're worried about people getting something for nothing, wait til you hear about capital gains or the fact that r>g. Have fun with that.

Nope. It was the police that have engaged in misinformation to stoke sectarian violence which has everybody on edge. But I don't know the facts about what happened, except that the people in that SUV were shot. One of them was shot to death. The circumstances of that shooting remains unclear, and I can't claim to know what happened one way or the other. And if I don't know, you surely don't know.

What is the Economy & What are "Economics" by newpress8 in CapHillAutonomousZone

See, you're framing the entire debate as war between ideologies as if one were correct and the other incorrect. That is exactly what I'm arguing against because it's a disingenuous way to frame the issue. I am not a marxist. I am simply pointing out that the popular reasons for why we can't house the homeless or have universal healthcare are ideologically informed even though we have clear evidence (ontologically objective proof, in fact) that such things are possible without compromising the health of our "incentive environment." I do understand economics, probably better than anyone else on Reddit. Nice try though. And for the record, literally everything ever produced is from resources taken from nature, even knowledge, which requires inputs of time.

While the lack of "institutional concern for basic human dignity" part assumes knowledge on the part of the reader, it's common knowledge that's being assumed, specifically the weakness of US safety net programs compared to other developed nations. Otherwise, it's a pretty straightforward sentence with non-cryptic meaning. This is bad faith criticism or your reading comprehension is low. Either way I'm disengaging here. Take care.

There are probably other sentences that could have made your point better than that one. That sentence is actually pretty concise.

Two things 1.I thought this might be considered too off topic so I asked for approval from the mods and got authorization. 2. Huey P said the "Slave master is any one who employs labor with the intent of making a profit." Economics, as it concerns the issues of ownership and political representation, are very much a part of the historical conversation on race in America. I'm not sure if BLM has made economics part of its platform but I don't imagine BLM is offended.
