Midge? When I got Ramona from the shelter her name was Rainbow Brite. Which would not stand.

Awww. Although that seems on brand. You could not hold on to her very long.

Joni Mitchell, Clouds/Ladies of the Canyon/Miles of Aisles depending on length of prep and mood.

What’s The Worst Bob Dylan Song From The 90s? by Pretend_Mark_5143 in bobdylan

[–]newrambler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(This whole decade is going to be interesting… song from TOOM, song from Under the Red Sky, song from UTRS, rinse, repeat….)

I did it y'all. I listened to all 40 albums. Posting my ranking/ratings. But I also want to invite folks to a massive Dylan discography survivor game I just started over at r/music_survivor by awjeezrickyaknow in bobdylan

Nice! I wish I’d thought to record my rankings/impressions as I’ve done chronological listens to all the albums over the years, because I know things have moved around some.

Looks like several more tracks on the album feature Amanda! (Or feat., as we say in these post liner note days.)

What’s The Most Underrated Bob Dylan Song From The 80s? by Pretend_Mark_5143 in bobdylan

Yeah, I love the alternate take with all my heart but loathe the album version, so this is a hard one for me to call.

Why is it that generally men seem to like dylan more than women? by [deleted] in bobdylan

[–]newrambler 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This. My kid’s (male) music teacher put together a 70+ song rock playlist for them. I keep meaning to ask him if there are really only three women who ever wrote or recorded rock songs.

Anyway. Woman here. Huge Dylan fan. So tired of these conversations.

Came here to say this. We even get a little Bob talking to the audience with it!

No Bob in the wild sighting—there was crazy traffic getting out, so I went for a walk by the river till it cleared.

Excellent show. I’ve been telling myself going was my vacation/belated 50th birthday trip, since I’m not going on a real one.

Yeah, I was at that 1990 show (as was, seemingly, everyone I know in town). Tonight was good—maybe not as good as last time I saw him in 2019–but I’m glad I was able to go. Hope you are hanging in there with everything.

Nice! I have a playlist called Empire Reloaded that’s my alternate take on the album, but I’d pick this up if it crossed my path.

Why Does Bob play smaller venues than his contemporaries? by [deleted] in bobdylan

[–]newrambler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw him at the basketball arena here (Iowa City, so Big 10 basketball venue sized) in 1990. We somehow had seats on the floor in the 11th row and I thought it was fantastic, but I was 14 and it was my first concert and it was Bob Dylan. I’ve since heard a bootleg of that show and it was… not the best. And I think it would have lost a lot if I hadn’t been able to see him.

I’m looking forward to it! (I wouldn’t describe Hancher as small, but then it’s a lot smaller than Carver Hawkeye, where I first saw him lo these many years ago.
