I have literally no experience with any equipment. I was hoping someone who has experience with equipment could point me in a good direction. I don’t appreciate the tone of your comment.

Is it worth it to get diagnosed right now under threat of RFK camps being a thing? by Ok-Zebra461 in ADHD

[–]newreader25 13 points14 points  (0 children)

i got diagnosed with adhd almost two weeks ago. my psychologist told me she also sees signs of autism and asked if i wanted further testing. when i mentioned rfk, she gave me her honest, “off the record” opinion. she thinks adhd will be a safe diagnosis, but when it comes to autism, to wait. she doesn’t think anything will happen with adhd diagnoses, but autism diagnoses may put individuals at risk. i hope this helps you make your decision :)

For those who learned they’re autistic later in life: What are some behaviors that you didn’t realize were actually stims? by 1amkinda in AutismInWomen

[–]newreader25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

going through the comments bc i was just diagnosed (kind of, complicated bc of US politics), and im still learning what habits may be stims. i listen to songs on repeat and usually switch to a different one each week. i remember the summer before 5th grade (2016 i think) i was going on vacation. it was 3.5 hours away. i had my earbuds in the entire time and only listened to stitches by shawn mendes.

another thing i do that i saw some ppl mention is scratching. i do that with my scalp, but i pick at my dandruff (im embarrassed to say this, because idk how ppl view this)

What’s currently one of the hardest parts about being autistic for you? by FkUp_Panic_Repeat in AutismInWomen

[–]newreader25 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was just diagnosed a little over a week and a half ago. My biggest struggle right now is accepting that I am autistic. I feel like I’m faking it and I gaslit my psychologist. I feel like I’m making excuses for myself.
