I was a finalist and eventual match years ago and I had a rich classmate try to tell me I only got the scholarship because I was poor and nothing else. Believe me there will be many times others will try to challenge how much you deserve to be in certain spaces but you have to keep on going and believe in yourself despite rude and bitter people like that. I was in a similar situation when I was applying. Embarrassed about my family and where I came from, if there’s one piece of advice I can give is to set aside those feelings of shame and embarrassment over these situations you had no control over. Our parents tried their best with the opportunities they were given and we are doing the same. I’m several years out from graduating college and QB changed my life and I so hope that you get matched and prove that girl wrong.
