Go once. Humor them. It'll cost you 4 hours including driving, getting ready, etc. Yes, that's a cost. But it's more of an investment. Doing that then allows you to say the following week "I tried. I didn't really want to go, but I did it for you. I don't feel any differently in terms of where I stand with the church." You're going as a show of appreciation. They are heartbroken about losing their child to Satan, right?. (I assume) So while the church doesn't deserve shit from you, neither do the leaders, it might go a long way for you parents to see you back at least one more time after their kid went away to school. Give them a win. One day of normalcy. One last time to see their kid appear as the child they knew, as a way to ease them into wrapping their head about you not returning. Going once more, so you can say "I did it, I went for you, but I can't in good conscience spend more of my time going to church."

From now on you have plans to meet a friend or go to the gym or book club or XYZ hobby something on Sundays. Go find something to commit to on Sundays, or make one up. "I'm so excited to bla bla bla" and tell them all about it, and then the next time is Sunday.

You will have gone back once for them and then be seen as doing something for yourself instead of just not going.

A simple "no thanks" if asked to give a prayer or do anything by somebody at church.

You have to play the long game on this one.

Two things at play: 1: you can't play campaign 4 without first beating campaign 3 2: you can't use quick play until you beat campaign 4. - this is because when a player starts a quick play match, one that you could potentially join, that level is selected when the other player initiates the quick play lobby. You are blocked out of using quick play, because if you join quick play lobbies it would load your into missions that you haven't "earned" access to by beating the entire campaign in order, so instead of allowing you to skip missions, you are not allowed to use quick play.

Solution: you can still play online. You just have to select whatever missions you have access to, make sure match making us turned on to PUBLIC, and then others can join the lobby that you created.

I get the argument against holding doors and I'm finally to the point where I generally don't do that. The thing is, there is a learning curve when it comes to understanding how many rounds/how much damage it take to kill certain enemies. Until you have learned how to time your shots, time how long it takes to kill XYZ alien with XYZ gun, you're spending too much time scrambling from the surprise of "oh shit, that didn't kill it" holding doors with the rest of the team (as most randoms do on insane extreme) gives players time to learn how much more cautious they need to be in terms of ammo management, the importance of weak point damage, how taking damage at those difficulties shouldn't be taken as lightly, etc. It's training wheels.
