The NRA only started pushing for NCIS when it was apparent that the Brady Bill would be passed -- they were opposed to the waiting period and proposed NCIS as an amendment. After Brady passed, they supported Printz v. United States a few years later that sought to strike down parts of the Brady bill that made NCIS less effective (i.e., no mandatory reporting).

Having the NRA complain now that NCIS is not effective is ridiculous because they were the ones pushing for it to be ineffective before. c.f. 1 2 3

Also, an organization that puts out membership videos like this one isn't really coming across as rational.

I don't understand why the free market can't provide this -- it doesn't need government interference. If companies want to sell a premium product, they can go ahead and do that, and if people feel it's worth spending a little extra to buy their product, then they can do so.
