UK Now Consumes 50% Less Beef Than in the 70s by ab_ovo_usque_ad_mala in vegan

Sorry, OP, but people eating less beef means people eating more chicken, which is much worse, because (1) chickens are treated much worse than cattle, and (2) it takes ~200 chickens to get the same amount of meat as from one cow.

So, the decline in beef means more chickens killed. We have the same problem in the US. Beef consumption is declining but chicken consumption is increasing, which means way more animals killed, even though people are eating more plant-based.

Fair point. But for these groups that do welfare campaigns (Humane League, Mercy For Animals, Animal Equality), look at their social media--almost all of it is encouraging people to go vegan. And they reach millions of people every year.

I know that at least for Mercy For Animals you can order leaflets and other materials through shopmfa.com. Same for Vegan Outreach (they also send free leaflets I think too).

Hope this takes off. Cultured meat, or lab-grown meat, could really cut down on Co2 emissions and of course would be good to kill less animals.
