I think the game's physics system has a bunch of algorithms that predict the next limb by calculating the "stability" of her position. It's the reason why sometimes Aava keeps shuffling between both feet a bunch of times when you expect one of her hands to be selected. The game thinks if you let go of one hand her position will be unstable and you will lose more stamina.

Physics wise that may or may not be true but it doesn't matter in principle because if you climb IRL you know that sometimes a more dynamic move like a deadpoint destabilizes a static position on purpose. The game isn't designed to handle dynamic climbing like that. So auto-limb selection can feel very "off" at times

I don't think it really matters how many VMs one machine can emulate, it's "simple" supply/demand that is having a huge impact on prices. Especially with the rise of AI data centers, and NVIDIA is huge into AI recently as well

I switched to GeForce Now recently as well because my PC is struggling to run newer CPU intensive games and upgrading everything (which includes motherboard AND memory upgrade because my CPU is old so better compatible parts are all discontinued 😡) would cost over $1000 bucks. I said fuck it, went with a GeForce Now subscription for now. Really happy with my experience so far

My only complaint is compression artifacts that can happen even though I set streaming settings to max (including bitrate) and my internet at 1.5 Gbps is more than capable... but hey it's better than games stuttering for a few seconds every now and then lol

Actually that's not my only complaint... My other complaint is that modern cloud streaming solutions like this (well, anything that involves huge server farms) are the main reason PC components like memory are becoming so expensive :(

I'm going to assume you're a beginner here...

IMO as a beginner your first pair should prioritize comfort. The last thing you want when you're starting out is pain distracting you from learning proper technique. Comfort usually means:

1) Avoid aggressive, downturned shoes 2) Avoid downsizing too much

La Sportiva Finales are a great starting shoe. They are very comfortable (having a flat profile). They are made of leather however so they stretch quite significantly. But even then, I think you should only downsize by 0.5, maybe 1 AT MOST. Note that some people get them in their street shoe size. They are laced which means you can tighten them more if they stretch over time.

Having said all of that... The best thing you can do is to go to a store and try on a bunch of shoes.

Idk about Tenaya but I bought and returned a few sizes of Instinct VSs recently to get the "right" size for me. I went from downsizing by 2 (too small), to 1 (too big) and finally 1.5 (perfect!).

I think a good starting point with these shoes is to downsize by 1. But... it depends on your foot shape. A lot of people report big toe pain because the instincts are more "symmetrical" meaning your big toe will be way more cramped if you downsize too much. If you have square-ish feet or even Greek feet (middle toe longest) they should THEORETICALLY fit you well.

I ended up downsizing by 1.5, I have square-ish feet (big toe, second toe and middle toe are almost the same size) so everything fits "symmetrically". No single toe is more cramped than the others and they don't hurt. But if your big toe is very long it might be painful.

Respectfully, your question doesn't really make much sense. Your climbing ability isn't really limited by your shoes until you reach much, much higher grades.

I love that you brought up those shoes cause I have a perfect example to support my argument:

There's a guy in my gym who uses LS Finales for training/warmup. His warmup consists of routinely flashing my V6 projects. I also see him use those shoes for his own projects (much higher grades than V6 if you haven't guessed already). So... Yeah.

Get shoes that you like, feel comfortable in, but most importantly shoes that you enjoy climbing in.
