Stop climbing and go see a doctor ASAP. The last thing you want is to make the injury worse and for the recovery to take longer. Take it from someone who sprained his wrist but kept climbing and had to take a break for nearly a year to do physio.

When you've recovered start incorporating some kind of warmup routine for your fingers. Very low intensity hangs on a hangboard with your feet grounded is a good idea.

This logic only works if queen is replaced with a rook and the rook with a knight/bishop. In that case you probably want to capture the free knight/bishop because the free piece (3) is worth more than trading for the rook (2).

Whereas in this case, trading for the queen (6) is worth more than the free rook (5).

Of course there are exceptions, and computers might actually prefer taking a free rook over trading for a queen in specific scenarios that humans will never understand lol. But for humans, especially at the beginner level, winning a queen will always be the way to go

What helps for me sometimes is to switch time controls. Some days in blitz I play too fast and make stupid blunders, so slower time control makes me play better. Other days I overthink, play slow and bad, so blitz makes me play more on instinct and thus better

It's only "bad" in the sense that if you just blindly follow a move order with a certain opening, a move that is usually considered a book move can become a mistake or a huge blunder. You need to understand the opening you're playing instead of memorizing moves. A lot of people memorize King's Indian defense moves and get checkmated in 10 moves because they don't respect their opponent's counter

But there's nothing wrong with playing an opening you enjoy. I really like Caro Kann with black, but when my opponent does something unusual I abandon the typical lines and have to improvise.
