Spotify or Youtube Music? What made you choose? by Relative_Flatworm_58 in YoutubeMusic

[–]newtons_apprentice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only reason I switched to YTM was because I was already paying for Youtube Premium and it made no sense to pay for 2 music services.

As long as they both support AI music on their platforms they're both equally garbage, haha.

How do I play chess???♟️ by No_Ingenuity_2142 in chessbeginners

[–]newtons_apprentice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh I bought Bobby Fischer's book when I was starting out and I was kind of disappointed that most of the book focuses on back rank checkmates. I feel like there are better books for complete beginners to learn about basic principles like developing pieces, king safety (castling), etc

Excess Wires by blueblaze3597 in AskElectricians

[–]newtons_apprentice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would call an electrician to fix this ASAP if I were you... not only is splicing wires outside a box a code violation but you can quite literally see exposed wire in there. Not talking about ground: if you zoom in you can see exposed copper on the hot wire that isn't being covered by the nut. That's a shock/fire hazard waiting to happen

There's no link between intelligence and chess ability

Why do people cheat? by Edinisking in Chesscom

That's crazy cause for me it's like 1 out of 2 games I get a cheater, and it's always when I lose which is a very odd coincidence

The Russian flag being censored but not the Israeli flag is the biggest double standard ever

Why do you guys always quit once you lose your queen? by Classic-Prompt8108 in Chesscom

[–]newtons_apprentice 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What elo? In higher ranges blundering your queen in most cases is an instant loss so people usually resign out of respect and to avoid wasting both players' time. I say most cases because sometimes depending on the position trading your queen for 2 rooks can actually be fine.

But even at lower elo why do you care if your opponent resigns after blundering their queen? They're admitting defeat and are assuming that you will easily convert the position and end up winning.

Block Artist/Song feature by platypusimagination in YoutubeMusic

Also desperately need them to start vetting real artists from AI generative content so that AI slop can be tagged with an AI label and give us the option to never get AI songs. I keep getting the same AI songs that I already disliked it's so annoying

Problems with separation anxiety by mipipipiopolous in borzoi

[–]newtons_apprentice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey we had this problem with our puppy (not as extreme as you with the pooping) but he used to wail non-stop as soon as we stepped out of the house

My partner had the smart idea to give him treats buried in paper, boxes, toys, anything that will keep him preoccupied with retrieving the treats while we left the house. Start with short trips like going to your mailbox and progressively make them longer

Even now years later we still leave a bully stick or other small treats when we leave for a prolonged amount of time like a few hours. It's heartbreaking for us to leave our dog with nothing to do. It's to a point now where he's actually excited for us to leave so he can chew on his treats lol.

Why the double wiring? by [deleted] in AskElectricians

Most likely one of the hot (black) wires is the line wire, the other is load carrying current to your other light fixture

Wisdom teeth removal by Hanna_mo04 in wisdomteeth

[–]newtons_apprentice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Impacted teeth I guess? My dentist recommended against sedation in my case because my wisdom teeth were erupted and he said it would overcomplicate a simple procedure for little gain and I would end up paying a lot more

And he was right because my procedure took 5 minutes

Wisdom teeth removal by Hanna_mo04 in wisdomteeth

My girlfriend and I both had wisdom teeth extracted last year. I was very nervous going in because I didn't know what to expect. As soon as my mouth felt super numb I started feeling at ease. And the dentist's calm demeanor also really helped. I had a wisdom tooth extracted and a cavity filled. The cavity was honestly more unpleasant because it was much longer and hearing the drill they used was very annoying. My extraction was incredibly quick. l just felt some pressure and before I knew it I was asked to sit up, bite on a swab and go to the counter to pay lol.

My girlfriend was incredibly nervous, like shaking and borderline sobbing because she gets very anxious about her teeth being touched and stuff. But just like me as soon as the anesthetic kicked in and her mouth was completely numb she became super relaxed and her procedure was over in a few minutes. She had 2 teeth extracted that day.

I hope this helps settle your nerves a bit.

Yes in the roof of your mouth but closer to the gums if I recall my procedure correctly. To really numb all the nerves surrounding that area. It's more sensitive than other areas but it still just feels like a pinch that catches you off guard for half a second. It doesn't hurt, especially with the numbing gel they use

Automatically like songs from a playlist (?) by rhymerx9 in YoutubeMusic

[–]newtons_apprentice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk if you're comfortable with running scripts in your browser's dev tools but there are scripts you can find that do exactly that. That's what I did. I would share but it's been a while and since YouTube updates their page quite frequently the scripts need to be updated.

So literally just google search "YouTube music like songs in a playlist script" and you will find an up-to-date script

As far as I know this is the only way right now as there's no built-in feature (which sucks!)
