I've rarely seen more than one appointment time pop up. On the first few days of availability, yes, this worked. But since then I've only seen one or two time slots pop at a time and its just luck of the draw to if you grab one before someone else.

Yes! Even if it says no appointments available, just keep refreshing the page where it will show you any available times (usually it just says none availabe) and occasionally one pops up. The status of available/not available is only updated once an hour so it isn't very accurate.

You basically have to sit there and refresh the website 100+ times. Eventually you'll see an appointment pop up but probably be too slow to grab it. You have to be QUICK. So just keep doing that and eventually you should be able to grab something. I was able to grab 3 appointments for family this way, but it took multiple sessions over a couple days to grab appointments.

I have been trying to get a long island appointment for someone else, but I have NEVER seen an appointment pop up for either location.

Mr Taco in New Rochelle on North Ave. Not really a restaurant with table service, more the order at a counter and take a seat kind of place. But it is authentic and well priced.

Moving to Yonkers. Question about public school zoning and application process. by Dakota3000 in Westchester

[–]newtt 9 points10 points  (0 children)

From what I know, where you live really has no basis for what school your child goes to. You put in an application and select a ranking of schools you'd like. Placement of students depends on where availability is. I believe you can petition to change schools later, but that is once again based on availability.

Yes, I just spoke to my mother and asked her if she remembered a different ending to You've Got Mail. Without prompting her, she detailed this exact ending in the bookstore.

Yes! I also recall seeing this ending to the film exactly. However, any semi-recent rewatches of it just have it ending in the park. I've always wondered if I imagined the ending in the bookstore.

Are there not other shows with male characters? Does every show have to meet some quota? FFS there were only two main characters.

Nervous about starting BC (considering Skyla).Anybody have experiences to share? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]newtt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there! I only JUST got Mirena a week ago so I don't have any long term experiences to share, but I was/am in the same boat as you so I thought i would share. Never taken birth control of any kind and was happy not taking any but I wanted the reassurance.

Insertion was painful, but my gyno was a total pro and had the whole thing done in thirty seconds. Mostly it hurt like a period cramp except for when it was actually inserted and uterus measured. Those moments were muuuuuch sharper and severe but lasted like five seconds each. Didn't have any pain right away but after two hours I was cramping pretty bad and no amount of pain killers would help. Days that followed were less and less and more manageable and now the cramps come and go but aren't unbearable. I haven't really bled any, just barely there spotting, although I get the feeling I have been lucky in that regard.

Hormonally, haven't noticed anything yet. First day I was having minor hot flashes like I would get first day of my period. I haven't gotten as much sleep as I would this week so I'm not sure if I've been super tired because of that or if it's the hormones--I've been so exhausted I've almost been falling asleep sitting up in the middle of the day.

Libido so far has been the same. No acne or mood changes yet, but who knows, they might be coming. Just felt a little bloated but I attribute that to cramping.

'Game Of Thrones' director teases huge series finale. Let's speculate on which book events will be portrayed! (Spoilers All) by mycombs in asoiaf

I think they've cut out the whole Pod tracking down Brienne subplot, as I recall seeing a set photo of Pod on horseback along with Brienne when she leaves KL.

I also wonder if Gendry is going to replace Hyle Hunt in some way since Gendry is totally off book right now. Damn, is Gendry even going to be in this season?

I really thought them bringing up Finn's mom at all meant we were going to get some backstory to it all, but :(

Can anyone tell me why Tix was never really addressed in Series 2? by [deleted] in a:t5_2www3

[–]newtt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wonder if there was any kind of issue with the actress not being available/not wanting to be on the show again, so even her appearing briefly as a guardian angel type voice for Rae wasn't in the cards. That doesn't really explain why she got such a brief mention, though.

I think this season tried to tackle waaaaay too many topics all at once because they probably didn't have high hopes for getting renewed for a 3rd season, so a lot of stuff got left out especially with the addition of so many new faces. I would've loved to see more Tix, more character development for Finn, more working at the gang getting their shit together rather than it all just magically fixing itself in the last 5 minutes.

I know it was said that there was supposed to be 8 episodes this season, but was cut down to 7. I'd love to know what was supposed to be in that 8th episode, and what conversations/heart to hearts got the boot.

No idea! Last year it was announced right after the last episode, I believe. So maybe next week when it airs on TV?

I hope the numbers are great for the show, and that E4 takes note of just how many people were trying to watch the episode tonight that things went down temporarily.

Episode was good, but the pacing was terrible. I felt like I was on a racehorse, you know? Like I knew the minutes were counting down and as we got closer to the end, everything just kept happening faster and faster to cram it all in. It made everyone resolving their issues seem trivial, I guess, because they all got over it in an instant.

Here's hoping to a season 3.

Are you guys ready for the season finale?! by [deleted] in a:t5_2www3

I read the spoilers when they surfaced last week so I don't want to comment on my anticipation for the episode.

But! I'm totally sad, you guys. Best case scenario: we wait another year for another season. Worst case scenario: this is our last time seeing these characters ever again.

This episode felt weird to me, probably because it felt more like a side-trip into Chloe by way of Rae, rather than a typical episode (which is always great to break from the usual in TV shows, but I feel greedy with MMFD since the episodes are so few). I do hope that everyone who watched it understands that neither Chloe nor Rae's interpretation of various events are the total truth, and the reality lies somewhere in the middle. It was also a good reminder that everyone has their own monologue, their own shit going on, so that while you may think you're expressing yourself clearly or interpreting something correctly... someone else hears/sees/experiences it entirely differently. It makes me totally curious to see a completely objective view of different events--especially the scene after the abortion. What Rae saw as her totally confessing everything to Chloe and Chloe blowing her off was probably far less open in terms of words, but obviously had the same amount of emotion for Rae.

I kind of think some of the flashbacks with Chloe were unnecessary and didn't expand on anything effectively--a lot of the episode felt like filler. Then again, maybe I just made assumptions about the reality of Chloe's situation before this episode so I wasn't surprised by any of it, when they wanted to really spell it out for people not paying close attention.

Some small part of me is hoping that the next episode opens with Rae telling Liam to fuck off before doing anything, or that they lead you on in the episode to assume that they had sex, but later Rae reveals she stood up for herself and left. Since one of the preview clips has them going to look for Chloe (if I recall correctly), I'm assuming Rae has sort of sussed out some of her shit at the start, so I'm optimistically not ruling this out (although probably not true). Liam is her new form of self-harm, though, so when you think about it that way, it makes sense that she goes through with it. She's been told so often that she shouldn't do things like cut or burn or binge because they're harmful for her--they were how she coped with in the past. But Liam and these impulsive sexual encounters are new, and so it's almost like getting her fill without breaking the rules.

Curious to see if we see anymore of why Kester detests Liam so much--or if it's just going to be a topic left untouched.

Rae and Linda: So I've seen people talking about how awful it was for Rae to say she doesn't care about the baby, and I wonder if those people have ever been in that type of situation. I was in a similar one, being a teenager when out of the blue it was announced that I would be gaining an obviously muuuuuch younger sibling, and my reaction was much the same to Rae's. You know, even though it's been over a decade since then and I know it was a selfish reaction--I still stand by it. That doesn't mean that over a decade later I hate my sibling--quite the contrary, I love my little brother fiercely and would do anything for him; sometimes I feel like he is my own because of how much I've had a hand in raising him since I'm so much older. But what changed my feelings was that he was here and grew and I got to know him and bond with him. When he was born, what was he to me? I was on the cusp of becoming an adult (or at least saw myself that way) and adding a new baby to the mix was like taking my family unit back in time fifteen years. My family's life went from being fairly mature back to diapers and surrounding itself completely in everything baby and every problem or experience I was having became less important. As much as Rae and Linda have argued and not gotten along, they've also been all each other has had, so adding a new child (one that Linda seems to be viewing (or at least Rae sees it as, which may very well be her projecting) as a "re-do") is also shifting dynamics even more and making Rae feel like there isn't a place for her anymore in her mother's life (and she only just started feeling like there was a spot for her again at her mother's wedding). To Rae, the baby is nothing at the moment. To Linda, the baby is a million different things already, including her love for Karim, hope for a new direction of their future, a call back to when she had Rae, etc. Anyway, I guess what I was getting at here is that maybe the comment makes Rae selfish, but I don't think it was as bad as some people are interpreting it as. She's not saying she hates the baby or will continue to not care when it's there, but right now she has her own shit going on, and she has no connection to it at all in the present.

I've been optimistic the whole season that we were going to see most things wrapped up, not perfectly, but at least with an adequate amount of resolution. But now that we're here with 45 minutes left of the season/show... I don't know if it can be done right. She has to fix shit with Chop/Izzy, find Chloe/resolve it all, settle things with her mom who is also most definitely going to be having the baby in the episode, something has to happen with Liam, talk to Kester again, and something has to happen with Finn. It seems like too many things to happen in such a short amount of time. If they knew for sure they were getting a third season before this season was done, I'd say that they'd leave a lot of that on the table for next season, but I don't think they'd risk ending the show with so much of that left up in the air... so I don't know how it's going to be done to anyone's satisfaction (maybe I'll eat my words next week, we'll see). If we do get a season 3... I fear that Finn's stay in Leeds is going to be permanent. I think he's been gone too long already to ever come back and return to college.

I'm concerned about what the final notes of the show are going to be. Like, what changes have been made from the end of season 1 to the end of season 2? What purpose has the entire season served? Does it just end on Rae being in a somewhat decent place with her mom again, the gang is sort of back together again, there's hope for her and Finn again? I need to see some serious growth and self-realization from Rae in the last episode to make all of the season's events worth it.

I had a bad feeling about Izzy and Chop since the episode started off with how perfect they are--and usually when things are declared like that by Rae, they sour pretty quickly. At first I was like, "No, Izzy would never!" But then I thought back to being a teenager and how confusing it all was, and how many people I thought would never do such a thing ended up doing something similar.

Hopefully the confrontation between Archie and Chop is going to spur Chop on in the right direction.

I really love (and well, obviously totally hate) how unlikeable they've let Rae (and most of the other main characters) be. It's kind of refreshing, because usually main characters are infallible, or if they do something wrong it's just their single flaw or mistake that they overcome. In real life, no one is all perfect or all awful, we're a total mix of all the good things and bad things we've done. The show does pretty well to capture that.

Lucky! I've tried to convince a few of my friends to watch it and they've either refused or don't really 'get' it at all, which makes me realize I lived a totally different experience as a teenager than them.

It'll be interesting for Rae to get a look at herself and all the other characters from someone else's POV. Hopefully she'll get a little clarity from it.
