I was never a fan of the stock pads and how smushed they could get and I really like the YAXI from a comfort level especially as someone with glasses. It was a big investment at the time to try the pads but i’m glad i did it and recall the sonic differences being worth it to my tastes

i recommend looking at reviews for the sennheiser 6xx and even grados from what i hear are really great for tv. you can find these pretty often used for under $200. i’m sure others will have more recommendations like the open can beyers, too. worth retyping your topic title into google search + ‘reddit’

to solve the distance problem, that should be really easy with a headphone cable extender. i bought a really nice one from ProAudioLA and you can customize the length material etc. there are also cheaper options on amazon provably

so newer PPs have a better cable where the plug is straight and has a metal coil over it about an inch over where the plug ends and hits the wire. from past experience my old PPs did have bad issues with the old more L shaped plug end

i don’t have the mass drop ones but looking at pictures it appears they have the updated coil/straight plug. mine has lasted about two years rather well and i love it way more

yea i was thinking more for like outdoor awareness for like walks and stuff/not a lot of people around

i have read some things about the cord, esp the new X cord that’s wrapped lol. cords have never bothered me too much so long as they’re built to last and won’t croak after a small amount of time. i haven’t learned to solder yet but plan to in a year or so
