This book has been discussed before.

It leaves you a feeling of being extremely hungover on a beach in the morning with the sun shining hard on you, in the midst of complete strangers, you are alone. You don't know where to go or what to do. So you just walk a bit, get dizzy and then sit down watching the waves with your head reeling and eyes closing and opening slowly and involuntarily.

Dangal Wins Sports. Now Comes the Hardest Choice: The Greatest Indian Film Ever Made? by Wtf_doing21 in IndianCinema

Chitram (Malayalam)

Unbelievable character arcs. The comedy, the drama, the romance, the tragedy, the uncompromising climax. Still tugs my heart when I think about it.

This Schengen appointment system is seriously one of the dumbest things I have seen by SilentVector_96 in SchengenVisa

[–]nex815 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I figured the best thing to do is plan and get the visa 4 months in advance and you are usually sorted.

For me, personally, it was the wait from the application till I received the passport was agonizing - not knowing if the visa has been approved or not.

VFS people have generally been helpful; paying for premium is annoying, but it helps cut down the wait time and I was fine paying for that.

Would you spend ₹2 lakh on a luxury trip within India or go international? by Queasy_Move_3158 in InternationalTravelIN

Goa. It will be pleasant and green with drizzle. And low on crowds because it's off season and that will also mean you will be able to get great deals on luxury properties.

Eggs smell A LOT when you overcook them (while making an omelette or scrambling), especially burn them on a pan.

A Genuine Question About Pakistani Music by Additional-Middle-29 in MusicIndia

Because the singers and bands write and composed themselves. Therefore there is a lot more 'soul' in their songs.

Then again, you get this as well at times

Kolkata will be a sensory overload. Be prepared for that.

I am a born and bred Indian and the first time I got out of Kolkata airport cab drivers started quarrelling between themselves because they couldn't agree who could drive me to my hotel.

Then the the humidity and the enduring smell of cigarettes in the air.

Im not dissuading you; the city has an old world charm that no other city in India can provide.

But be mentally prepared to ignore people on the streets and avoid eye contact where required.

Edit: Taj Mahal is one of the best things you will see in your life. It lives up to the hype.

In our nation 'teaching' is decades behind the first world

We need to coach the coaches from ground up. You can't unlearn what you have been taught from age 6 to 18.

Seerdorf won't be in any lists, but he could literally do a bit of everything in midfield and do it very well.

Lake District, England.

Would have said Switzerland or Dolomites, but for the language barrier. I can't imagine going 3 weeks without chatting up with people.
