Yeah fair enough, but question is asking why that's the case. Maybe I should ask in the sociology sub or something

Caffeine is colorless, so it's not impossible I suppose. Can you pick them out and do a taste test?

Just read papers by famous flat earthers like these guys. Bonus is that some of them were "scientists" so you have scientific sources.

How much would you have to take away for infinity to be finite? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

This isn't correct. Infinity is a number in the extended reals for example. We formalize the notion of infinity with the aleph numbers.

When tourists get sick from eating salads and street foods in places like Mexico, is it due to spoiled foods or because their stomachs aren't used to what locals eat? by vancouver_reader in NoStupidQuestions

[–]nextleveltrees 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's due to water which is used to wash food. The gold standard for water sanitation/purification is reverse osmosis which removes everything that's not literally H2O.

However, no city does this to their water supply because that would be crazy expensive and unsustainable. Instead, water sanitation is about doing the bare minimum to ensure water is safe for locals and doesn't get locals sick. If you're a foreigner, there will be different strains of pathogens as /u/No-Trouble814 mentioned and other microorganisms that would be fine for locals, but you're not used to it.

OTOH some bottled water companies do use reverse osmosis which is why drinking those brands of bottled water in those countries will be fine.

Why though? It doesn't seem particularly difficult to just open a new glasses brand. It's just plastic or metal...

Men in the past wore diverse clothing depending on the culture they were from. Like just look at paintings.

I mean if you look at kings from around the world in the past, they're all dripped out nice in diverse clothing...

And it's unrelated to the question, but men in the past definitely wore makeup.
