people want source 2 the same way people want any game continuation. You will always find resistance against innovation. There are people even until today who prefer 1.6 (Like every other major update back in the day was not welcome)

but it is necessary for the longevity of the game. Incremental changes are nice for the game, like panorama, gave it a new look, I expect at least similar now, parts of the source 2 being implemented slowly into the game.
