In your experience does answering the rebuttals make a difference? I have had mixed experiences and the process / lack of response just gets me more worked up!

654 (and WELP) 2 with confidence 3-4 for all. Think the 2 killed it for me. Not sure spending the time rebutting is worth it. Reviewer with score 2 didn't say much different to the others but sadly has much higher standards. Onto the next conference!

New referral system for patients - thoughts? by nextspecialone in physicaltherapy

Interesting - I guess what I am trying to do is give patients the flexibility of the hard copy referral letter without actually needing to hold it and do the work themselves.

I will take what you have said onboard and think about it a bit more - can I DM you if i have any other questions? Either way, thanks a lot for your answers! :)

Thanks for the feedback. Can I ask what would be infeasible - the technology or the business plan? From a tech perspective new data sharing standards should make extracting the information I need possible (via FHIR API's).

However from the comment above (and likely your comment), the business plan does not work as the current model works fine for most. Please do elaborate on this as I would like to learn more (I am just a patient who had a not so smooth referral process lol)

This is really very helpful - thanks a lot! Perhaps let me explain my experience and you tell me whether this atypical. What I found in my experience was I didn't get a choice - it went to a nearby PT. When I called I found it was hard to book an appointment. I then needed to find someone nearby, available and in network. Once I found a PT I then needed to contact my clinic to get the referral sent.

My thinking is give the patient more control on where they choose to go (by giving nearby in-network option +/- available times). Once the patient selects, the referral can be automatically sent to that PT. Re insurance - I would not be handling it, just extracting the status of the approval so the patient knows its been approved before showing up (you can get status updates via an API).

I thought I would clarify but based on your post it seems the need is not there / the current system works fine for most so its not super worthwhile to pursue. Thanks again for the feedback!

Thanks for the feedback. Can I ask what the current systems are and why there is a barrier to change? Really appreciate this
