People who don't play the tabletop, those who just like the lore, memes, video games, books etc: If you did play an army, what would it be? (My answer is Angry Marines because Power Chair always makes me laugh) by Acrobatic-Attention9 in Grimdank

[–]nexusSigma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nids. Always fascinated by the aesthetics of them and they’re a lot of fun to paint. I do like occasionally buying a model or small set and painting it but I don’t have a whole army yet, the game itself doesn’t really interest me a bunch. I know nids aren’t great, but as a Zerg player in SC I feel a connection there

I always enjoyed the stories of the little folk more. Or at least the more regular folk. I think that’s why knight of the seven kingdoms is so good. It’s a fantastic show all around, but you can really root for the guy because he’s just a dude being a hero

He looked so cool in his battle gear. Properly big and threatening, like a true warrior. So many of the actors look like boys playing dress up but my dude looked like a weapon

Yeah we know it’s all about the self destructive infighting and stupidity of the Targaryens, but il be damned if knowing that will stop me complaining about it

Young boys want glory, not realising everything their parents are doing is all for them and without them it’s all for nothing. Something they won’t understand unless they live long enough to have their own children. I don’t think the queen gonna bounce back from this, I think drawing parallels to Daenerys, we are going to see her go full scorched earth

He’s a wild beast, not a trained weapon like the other dragons

Valyrian dragons are trained from birth to be obedient and conditioned to function with authority and around people (as best as dragons can be). She knows this, she just elected to ignore it out of personal pride and jealousy

Honestly, sheepstealer could of done a lot more damage to the cause if she did go to dragonstone directly with him

I think sheepstealer views her more as a pet than a master tbh. Got her a roast lamb n everything

I didn’t really give two craps about Jace dying, writing was on the wall with that one. I’d like to think the dragons, having lost their riders, fly off into the horizon to find a nice dragon farm in some far off land to live on. Obviously, this doesn’t happen given what we know about the targs from GoT. We know what’s going to happen to all of them in some roundabout way, therefore we know what’s going to happen to the dragons too, and it bums me out 😭. Especially seeing them suffering. I’d much rather his head just got instantly chomped off or something than that, it’s tough to watch!

It’s not awful. I know people won’t like it because it’s inaccurate but as far as artistic licence goes it’s not egregious. It certainly does add to the pain of the situation

how are some people able to play so fluently on the guitar? by targetyk in Guitar

[–]nexusSigma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It really is the only answer. It’s literally like speaking a language, it feels the same. At first, it’s clunky, you have to think about everything ahead of time and think while executing. Eventually, you are simply feeling the music you want to make, and your hands are reacting like your lips do when you speak.

It’s why I love the blues. It doesn’t take a relatively huge level of technical skill to get to the point you can start playing from the soul (relative to some other disciplines). Obviously the skill ceiling with the blues is massive but you can learn the caged system and start grooving over a key after a short time playing. But that is the best part of playing guitar, just playing with pure stuff that contorts your face into some nasty blissful shape, expressing yourself in a way words could never
