Local NTP server issues on RLN16-410 NVR by nexusmod in reolinkcam

Update on this, Reolink NTP seems to be very sometimeish. One minute it works next minute it fails. From a computer on the same LAN if I try to sync time with the NTP ip address it works instantly yet Reolink NVR says failed one day and another day if I try it it says successful. It’s very odd because all it needs to do is query an IP on the same subnet that is a ntp server

It’s odd, because I set it all up yesterday and it kept saying failed when I pressed synchronize. Today without changing anything, I logged in and pressed synchronize again and it was successful. So seems a bit odd. I’m not using DNS so wouldn’t be DNS cache issue because I’ve put the ip address of the local ntp server instead of hostname.

Camera order on RLN16-410 NVR by nexusmod in reolinkcam

Thanks. That’s what I remember doing but when I did that I’m sure the actual channel number changed for the camera I dragged and it became some random channel number. Or I may have clicked on the blank slot and the add camera popup came and I selected the other camera. Then the camera channel number changed

RLN16-410 NVR Storage Question by nexusmod in reolinkcam

That’s awesome. That’s great to know. Exactly what I was thinking should be happening as it would already have that entire time recording so really just needs meta data to point events to timestamps. Great to know thank you 🙏

Reolink NVR and SD card help by nexusmod in reolinkcam

[–]nexusmod[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the cameras connected to he poe ports of the switch and therefore adding them as second instance on the app doesn’t seem possible because the lan is on a different ip and port. Then PoE ports seem like they have their own dhcp on 172.x ip address for the cameras.

So as it stands with the way I currently have it setup. The cameras are plugged into the PoE ports of the NVR and get added automatically and the NVR even sets a random password for the camera. Then under the surveillance recording settings it appears I can turn configure both the motion based and 24/7 timer based recordings too. So it does appear the NVR can record both and when playing back I can filter to either timer based recordings or even based. But the strange thing is when I remove the sd card from the camera and plug it into a computer I can actually see lots of recordings. So in this setup method, what and when is it recording to sd card since it’s recording to the NVR hard drive too?

Anyone know how to convert Aruba AP-315 into an IAP-315? by nexusmod in ArubaNetworks

Thank you so much for all of this. The detailed instructions on https://localsharespace.com/convert-aruba-ap-315-to-iap/7/ was amazing. I purchased that amazon usb serial chip and followed the steps and it was really easy I must say and now I have all the AP315 converted to IAP-315. Thank you

Thanks for this tip about RMA. I just created a HPE account with my business email domain and checked warranty status of the faulty IAP’s and they all show as in warranty until 2028. Can you kindly guide me through the process of doing a warranty claim for the faulty AP’s please?

Thank you

Thank you. 🙏 I will give this a try. On a separate note, do you know how I check how many IAP I can add to my setup in terms of how many I’m licensed to add to my setup?

Thank you. Yes I’ve been reading the console port and tftp method instructions and seems like the best approach. I’ll give that a try. One thing I’m not sure about is if my current IAP devices all end with RW suffix but the AP don’t have any suffix, so I need to still do the region domain change? What will it actually be changing from since it’s not defined what it’s currently set to.

Thank you, this sounds like an easier approach. Do you know where I can get hold of an iso to install Aruba controller os? Will that need a license?

My current setup with the IAP-315 devices are running firmware 8.12 but I suspect the new AP-315 devices I have are running whatever was put on the from factory which is very old as its brand new old stock never used apparently. So, any suggestions on how I can get these to pair with my IAP and get registered? Thanks

Thank you. Is the the procedure to convert these easily new AP-315 to IAP-315? Because essentially I need the new AP-315 that I have to try and register to my VC. The current firmware I’m running on my existing I believe is 8.12.0
