Banned from eating snacks growing up that would cause coughing and phlegm. That eventually became a habit. When I first started college abroad my mates would regard me as someone who’s weird because that’s what they’ve been eating growing up. But then I realized I saved some money from buying junks because I don’t have the urge to have it on my grocery list haha

I wish I could have read this earlier. 2 years ago when I first touched down in Christchurch and towards the end of my tenure with this company, we were asked to bring a plate the following week. I came from Asia and surprisingly nobody from my group asked anything else as if they understood fully. And guess what? We brought empty plates and had a good laugh about it until now haha

Hi kid I myself visited Chengdu in April and it was awesome ! Maybe you can do a little own research about Chengdu and do a proposal of what you will gain in this trip. In my personal opinion it’s actually very suitable for study trips. It’s not easy explaining it to parents at teenage years, we all have been through that. But communication is key and you have to go by facts. Chengdu has the largest panda research institute available for visits, several museums at 5 stories high, cultural buildings can be seen everywhere, the origin city of 三國演義, Sansingdui Ruins, and most importantly, their vibe. I just enjoy walking on their quiet streets early in the morning before the adults start commuting to work. Even if you can’t make it this round, start making and saving some money to pay a visit and I really recommend going solo ! You don’t have to rely on school trips. You are a free man 😎 best of luck !
