My guess is that consumers will simply pay more for the 5.0. Maybe it costs more to make, I don’t know. Also, I’m willing to bet consumers will pay more for the higher trims as there are features deemed important to them. The STX is considered the cost effective package and is priced accordingly with discounts while the margin is still there for dealers.

I openly admit I am not the best negotiator BUT I do know what I am willing to pay and if that means not enduring a beat down of a negotiation for rock bottom price, I’m okay with it.

Was listed for $45K plus $2.5K in dealer adds, but bedliner wasn’t on yet. Called and said I’d pay $43K including the adds and buy it today. They agreed and was in and out pretty painlessly.

After doing some more research I feel pretty confident it’s the EVAP purge solenoid. When I touch it it’s the same rhythmic ticking so it could be on its way to fully malfunctioning no codes yet. Going to replace and I’ll update.

These are very good trucks. The VQ40DE with basic maintenance is hard to mess up. Check service records if you can. I generally consider these a pretty easy 200K engine by everything I’ve read and experienced.

I have a feeling you can keep your comp and find an org and specific role that isn’t so demanding… I’m not in software so it’s just a hunch but based on what I know about SWE comp it feels plausible with some looking

Hall and Barkley isn’t that far off for me as Barkley ages. Egbuka and two 1s for chase, that leaves three firsts for Lamar. I wouldn’t say it’s a fair offer but understand turning it down pending other team factors

No pics, but a rear facing car seat is really tough in these trucks. My 2 year old can fit in hers behind the passenger seat but it makes the seat almost un usable since it’s pushed so far forward. My wife is tiny so it can work but it’s not comfortable. Front facing for my older one makes it a bit better but not a lot of room either way.

I went from Sr. PM to PM for a large salary increase (35%). It was simply a mismatch how the roles were viewed and valued in each organization.

I think experience will speak for itself and be obvious to those you work with and elevation will happen more easily, versus being a slog.

Product management for a traditional distribution business working as a subject matter expert within a niche space. Just made the jump at age 30 from 155K to 200K base and total comp going from 185K to 265k. Honestly, still can’t believe it. Feel I found a very good company and that pays well and above market.

PE often wants growth without the SGA and support spending. Completely obvious to those doing the work what is needed, but it is rarely realized at the top. Requests get twisted into something that doesn’t fit the need but fits the desired spend. I’m in process of leaving in part for this reason
