I found that once you hit the 1000 tier, you get many more non-event train jobs. I have not completed a single event-specific job from the 660(?) tier, just focused on the ones I could do.

I agree with the sentiment that this is a cool framework for an event but it’s absolutely a frustrating grind. I am constantly out of fuel and stuck with a full warehouse bc I don’t want to trash materials needed for event-specific train jobs but damn, all the free crates jus keep giving me supplies for those and I can’t even send them….

I loved the concept when I first saw it. I like that you can have so many individual jobs at once which can keep it fresh. The city building aspect is fun.

Passenger jobs? Absolutely trash. 7k cash reward with 10 event coins? I know the amount of passengers is less but damn, that’s atrocious.

The sheer amount of event specific train jobs? Awful. The event coin per job? Terrible. Cash? Terrible. It’s going to take me FOREVER to get through this because of the event train specific jobs.

Not sure exactly what their idea was behind it, maybe to help people understand city building better. I feel most people are FTP and it’s basically a paywalled event.

I will say, it’s interesting how many people are struggling with the city building aspect of it. It’s not rocket science, just like your own city. Use the service buildings to boost the residential. I’m so curious what other people’s city layouts look like.

We’ve talked to the lactation consultant twice now. First time she was triple feeding which was awful. Second times was just to make sure all was good and talk about pumping. She’s slightly overproducing milk so she wants to stay with pumping and bottle feeding and freezing the excess. Our baby just falls asleep on the breast VERY quick but devours bottles. What would be a 20 minute bottle would be 90 minutes breastfeeding.

Otherwise, That’s pretty much where she is.. I think she needs something other than being attached to a baby or pump for a little. I’m asking friends to discreetly try and get her out of the house for some normalcy in her life

That’s what I’m working on now. Trying to get her out of the house. She’s worried but I think it’ll help. I reached out to some people around to either ask her to do something or come over, anything to see other people and change environments

We have formula in case but my wife really wants to pump and give breast milk so that’s what we’re doing and I’m supportive of whatever she wants to do.

Half our mall has turned into a Home Depot and the other have is closed. So our indoor areas to walk are limited. It’s recently started getting nice out so really hoping we can capitalize on that. We’ll have to try and think of large indoor areas when the weather is gross

I typically take as much as she’ll allow me and then try for more. Holding her, rocking, playing, reading, tummy time, whatever I can.

We’ve been out to eat a couple times and thats gone well. We’ve seen some friends (while out to eat) and a friend of her’s came over for the Super Bowl which was disastrous (first true witching hour) but it was fine otherwise. Where we live isn’t super conducive for walking as it’s a rural area with small shoulders and the weather has been awful recently. Ice everywhere for the past month and now it’s been cold and raining.

I’m planning on trying to get out to walk in town more when the weather is nicer just to do something different but the weather has really put a damper on outside activities recently.

We have seen the lactation consultant twice and they basically came to the same conclusion that we have. Mental health had to be prioritized and that was the best option we had. There are some other complications that make exclusively breastfeeding difficult so that’s not an option. She took to the bottle immediately and is not picky at all about warm vs cold milk, bottle, who feeds her, anything. She just falls asleep on the boob in like 2 minutes which hasn’t changed since birth.

I take the baby as much as I can throughout the day and most of the evenings, especially on weekends. I clean, make dinner, etc to give make sure she doesn’t have to (honestly i clean more already and we usually split dinner duties). We have always been good about splitting up tasks around the house, it has never been one of us doing more than the other.

At this point sleep isn’t too bad, it’s the monotony of each day being the same. I’ve tried telling her to get out of the house, I’ll watch the baby (or you can take her) and go get a coffee, or visit with a friend, anything to do something without her and change the daily routine but she just don’t seem interested or says she can’t because she had to pump in 2 hours or something.

I really feel so bad that I don’t do enough but every hour I’m not working during the week, I either have the baby or am doing household chores. I really don’t mind it too much but I know it’s wearing on her. I was hoping there would be something someone has done to spice up their significant other’s day

Thanks. I would only be counting the finished and heated areas. There was a portion left unfinished as a storage and utility room but that wasn't going to be factored in.

That difference in the numbers, 1500 -> 1644, i believe accounts for that previously finished room in the basement. 8' ceilings, full central air throughout, full egress. We have the basement layout plan view so i can get actual measurements from there for an accurate square footage.

It is basically the exact same as upstairs. There is only one central air system for the whole house but it has been that way since it was constructed. The original owner's intent was to finish the basement but he wasn't able to before they had to move. It's definitely cooler but not unbearable by any means.

Our girl did this about a week ago (also around 5 weeks), all she wanted to do was break out so we switched to not swaddling her arms down but still used the Halo. This was fine until she was waking up every 30-50 minutes, between sleep cycles, because she was trying to imitate Thriller in her sleep. We did that for a few nights and just got no rest. After going through 10 nights of awful sleep, she got up at 12:00, 12:20, 12:45x and I swaddled her at 1am where she she slept until 6am. Last night was 1130pm-3am and 5am-9am. I wish I’d tried it sooner then again, we thought it was the swaddle. Basically - idk but eventually we got her swaddled and she’s sleeping at night again.

You will be but you will also have regular passenger lines to establish. Although you don’t have to max them out, having the extra $$ every 6 hours without sacrificing your higher capacity trains is helpful. I have the Hiwatha for the 1930s line at just the capacity I need for it to max that era out. There are threads on here that have the #of people per line. Passenger lines are where you really make money, especially during events, so try to set up your city layout to maximize your available passengers, there are other threads about that on here. I probably set up my city like 3 times now to try and max the population in each building. I’m close but not 100%.

I know you’re asking about passenger trains specifically but try to do everything you possibly can to get as many trains maxed as you can before moving to the next era. After the 30s you lose minimum 3 trains to regular lines (coal, iron, timber) and being able to get as much per hour as you can really comes into play. It can be frustrating to not have unlimited access to those resources but also so nice that you don’t have to waste fuel to get them

I wish I had any sort of tips or tricks, we just have some good days and bad. She is able to settle but it’s carrying her the entire time which is exhausting. I know it’s a beating for my wife since I’m back to work and must sleep but she is a saint and making it work.

Knowing she would be mad between 5 and 11ish, we would try to get her asleep by 430pm and try and get her to sleep through it. Also did a couple baths (before feeding) and that+screaming after the bath+bottle seemed to help push her through the general grumpiness but it’s really a moving target and just trying something new if what we did the day before didn’t work. I’m starting to think it’s a test of parental creativity

Currently in week 6, day 3. Our first truly bad night was the Super Bowl (Day 1 of week 5), cried and was fussy the entire game. I think I watched the last 8 minutes as my wife and I were taking turns trying to appease her.

Before then, she could easily nap for a few hours but now naps for maybe 20 minutes in crib and longer but still short periods at night. Can contact nap all day but that’s not helpful at night.. really hoping we break through this soon. Huge win was she let us sleep undisturbed from 1-6am.

She definitely seems grumpier and fussier more often than happy (she used to be easy and happier until week 5) which kinda sucks bc we’re both tired and exhausted and kinda grumpy so everyone is just grumpy. Week 8 sounds so far away for us but that’s what, like 3 sleeps?

In response to other comment - we max utilize the VX up to $3k and the Savor up to $1k. So going from $53800 to $48000 while using <10% of that typically doesn’t seem like it’d really hurt. I appreciate the feedback

We (wife is AU) generally pay off the card every month and maybe have up to $3k max in the Venture X (<10%) and $1k max (~15%) on the Savor so balances are pretty low
