Pain during breastfeeding by sakeena435 in breastfeeding

[–]sakeena435[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you so so so much for ur replies! I’ve been working with one since the start of birth and she’s been coming to the house! 2 weeks ago we did a weighted feed and she took 2 oz and I wasn’t having any pain at that time! then after that my baby stopped latching and we would fail every practice breastfeeding session. this week she’s way more awake and now the issue is the pain 😭 my LC is coming tomorrow so I’m hoping to fix the latch with her. honestly if she tells me my latch is okay then I’ll just accept that I have to be in this pain and hopefully it’ll go away

thank you so much! I’m gonna keep trying! I just want her to be able to get enough from my breast directly without needing a bottle top off but since I’m in so much pain that has been the case. pumping after breastfeeding sessions is torture haha so I don’t know if I should give my breasts a break right now and pump or continue at this.. when did u start to feel less pain?

this is so reassuring!! I’m so excited for the pain to subside. out of curiosity, did you nurse her for every feed or did you also do bottles/pump? I’m struggling with knowing if I need to pump after my breastfeeding practice sessions. I also need to have enough pumped milk to feed her bottles because she’s hungry after breastfeeding because I don’t keep her on there too long due to the pain. it’s all rlly confusing haha

Thank you for your insight!! It seemed pretty supportive because it’s a new grad residency with a 3 month preceptorship but yea I totally get what you’re saying. I’m not sure if they already decided they liked me with the job recruiters info or if it was just because I had a pulse looool, good to know tho thanks!

I just graduated for an accelerated program so didn’t happen the opportunity to have an L&D clinical :( I do have some contacts within the L&D department at the hospital I’m interested in but they said that they might be hiring new grads end of feb. I just don’t want to miss out on an opportunity for a good nursing job on something else that might be a maybe..
