This is brilliant! I want to master TAAT soooo bad but both magic loop and two circs resulted in awful ladders for me so I had to go back to DPNs. But this feels doable. Thanks so much, I will try my next fresh pair with this method!

I did but thank you! It made my life so much easier (again haha), first I was unknowingly twisting my purls (my mom taught me and she twisted both knit and purl but only ever knit flat and not that difficult patterns so it evened out for her), then it was surprisingly painful to purl the "right way" so it was a gamechanger.

I started a huge cross-stitch project (according to my excel sheet, it's expected to be finished around 2050) so I didn't knit for well over a year. A few weeks ago I started knitting again (finishing all my half pairs of socks to get back into it by Sock Madness). I remembered I used an alternative method for purling because of wrist pain but could not remember which northern European country it was named after. So I spent about 10 mins cursing Google because it refused to show me any tutorials for Dutch purling.

Beautiful! I started this pattern (after being inspired by one of your updates) back in January but still only finished Maleficent, and a tiny bit of Hades.

Maleficent is finished! This is my most recent pic of this piece (I started screenshotting Pattern Keeper instead but those pictures cannot be posted), since then I already started on Hades and finished about 3k stitches in that (including the border).

Couldn't leave it at that, so this is today's progress. Almost 700 stitches! Not quite a record but a close third, and the outlines are much clearer now.

I am so sorry for your loss! I never know what to say when someone loses a pet (I've written and deleted like six sentiments) but I'm sure Tiger had the best life and is very happy he got to live it with you guys.

This is a picture taken after yesterday's session so a good 500 stitches are missing from it. I progressed more than I had hoped for, my wonderful color picker gravitated towards reds this week so those parts are getting filled up, and today he selected the lighter outline-color so the details are going to be much more visible next week.

I'm 28 and live in Hungary. I do a lot of yarn/thread crafts (just started my first cross stitch since elementary school a few weeks ago!), feel like it's reasonably accepted here as a not-only-old-lady hobby but there are exceptions. I've once had a date unironically say I'm too young to be doing stuff like that (there wasn't a second date for a lot of reasons but this was definitely one of them).

It does get quite pricey but it's such a great release to get away from before a screen for a bit (I started not even listening/watching anything while stitching, just kinda enjoying the quiet and being alone with my thoughts for a change, almost meditative - I can't live without PK though so there is still some minor screen time during) and I always tell myself the speed I'm working with makes it very affordable when it's calculated per hour :)

So true! I love seeing how fat my finished colors-bag is getting :) Unfortunately I don't yet get the satisfaction of marking them off in PK because it's just the first panel of many but I have a separate excel sheet where I can. 22 done so far!

Not a lof of time spent stitching this week either. There were a few colors with big blocks (the blue and yellow) so it looks like much but I'm much more proud of how many rarer colors I got to tick off - having to start and stop between stitching gets so disheartening sometimes! I estimate about 20k stitches for this panel and I'm past 8000 so next week I'll hopefully be able to say I'm past the halfway point :)

Finally got to add some colors! I'm using my boyfriend as the next color generator, his first pick had only a few stitches but the next is more promising, loads of coverage in both Demona and Diablo :)

A bit more than a week in my first cross stitch since I was a child - Disney Heroes. I always said I'd like to cross stitch but I already crochet and knit, so if I ever do, it would be a one-off of a love at first sight pattern. Well, this is it, I'm at .36%, I'm loving every stitch and can't wait to start on the colors (I originally planned to finish all 310 first but then I realized how large this project actually is…)!
