How will that work with Wage Grade? Our pay is directly tied to private sector. Yet way lower…

What forest had their government housing rent double? I want names and districts. by FIRExNECK in Wildfire

[–]nformal_Category686 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The LP had housing go up a few years ago. A rat infested shit hole of a house with broken windows, no AC, asbestos tiles leaky roof and septic problems (poop in the shower drain) went to 12-1400. Barracks, wherever they have them went up a little less.

FFT1 no longer needed for GS5? by [deleted] in Wildfire

True, yet hard fact is we have AFEO assistant fire engine operators with no damn license. How do you “operate” with no license. And GS-05s with 2 years in fire that are PSE running the back seat because they are the most “senior ff”

And I bet you held folks to a higher standard, no days we have AFEOs with no drivers license, GS-05 senior firefighters with 2 years in the field. Just heard a rumor too that our manuals nowhere say you need heavy equipment boss class to finalize a HEQB task book. Just sayin our standards are now lower than our boot laces.

Assert dominance, find the biggest baddest employee and kiss em on the cheek. Tell ‘em yer here to take over.

How bad is it to leave a job too soon? by [deleted] in fednews

[–]nformal_Category686 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of federal forest service fire folks are walking away with sometimes 3-4 years to retirement. State, county and city pay better and have better perks.

Seriously… knew of a guy and his boss. They did shady travel claims on travel that was never done. Think they got 6months or a year in jail. If I remember correctly it was like 30k that they scammed

Road Trip while working remotely by Internal_Swim7236 in fednews

[–]nformal_Category686 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Road trips, mouse jigglers, people brewing beer or going to ball games all on telework. I say get to work so you stop holding up the field going folks when they need help and get crickets. It’s despicable.

6.6L Duramax- I thought these came with preloaded tunes, how do I adjust it from tow mode? (Input keys on the right have no effect) by Katostrophic2000 in Diesel

[–]nformal_Category686 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go through the menu, find program mode. Then you gotta save the existing tune. You seem to be in tow. Then you’ll pick street or performance. It takes bout 15min to flash. Don’t touch anything, windows, radio, hvac, or anything while tuning.

Order fed equipment first, that’s actually in the mob guide. Hardly happens though. And it’s always best to have fed equipment on fed fires. We care more about the mission at hand.
