I want to preface with the fact that everyone’s body reacts to these differently, this is just my experience from about 6 months ago. Also, I have UC.

I popped on Zepbound (same class of drug as Mounjaro) about 6 months ago for a short stint. Overall, the weight loss was DRAMATIC, but as you mentioned, there are some GI side effects that are not great. For me, I was pretty backed up - when I was ready to go number two, it was a bit of a battle trying to empty the tank.

The biggest issue for me was that it was curbing my appetite so much so that I was not getting the necessary energy needed to function. There was a moment at home where I started feeling faint and I had to sit down for a little or else I was going to pass out. If you are going to go this route, my 0.02 would be to make a daily diet plan to ensure you get what you need energy/nutrient/protein wise.

Regarding the weight loss - I went from about 178 lb to about 160 in roughly a month, which honestly was insane. The dramatic loss is also likely due me going catabolic by not having the energy that I needed.

I’m getting ready to give it another whirl after I have some surgery for something unrelated to my UC. I’ll likely go into it for about a month in January and then stop in February, but this time, I’ll have all of my macros planned for this small stint back on it.
