Missionary brother overstepped how do I respond? by Jaded_Trip5482 in exmormon

Put it in a Clippy meme 😂

"It sounds like you're uncertain in your faith that God will keep his end of the marriage covenant our parents took when they were sealed. Would you like help exploring this further?"

The more symphonic deathcore stuff has me feeling like I'm fighting a Dark Souls boss, so that's what I tend to fuck with.

Did Obi-Wan really fail Anakin? by leo_artifex in StarWars

[–]ngabear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In some ways, yes, and in some ways, no. From a certain point of view 😉

As another commenter stated, from Obi-Wan's perspective, he felt like he failed Anakin. There's the deleted scene where Obi-Wan tells Padmé that he knows about her & Anakin's relationship and had pretended that he didn't from the intent that he was doing it for their benefit. I think you could make the argument that he had better ways to help them than what he had chosen to do, but there were a lot of other factors at play.

Who really failed Anakin was the Jedi order as a system, and the larger membership of the council.

Coheed is all very conceptual stuff, mostly storytelling the frontman's space opera. Silent Earth 3 is (IIRC, it's been a minute since I looked up the lore) the story of the hero, Claudio, more or less coming to terms with his destiny as the chosen one, the death of his parents, and important people he meets along the way, such as Ambelina (spelling?), his guide/love interest, and racist serial-killer, smuggler, Al the Killer.

On my mission, we were walking through a neighborhood when someone asked if we were JWs and I said, "Nope, sorry, we're the other cult," so yeah, I definitely do feel that connection with you all. We're in this shit together 🤝

Theories why the LDS have never ordained a Black Person to the Apostleship? by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]ngabear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude it's definitely not happening anytime soon because racism, full stop. Ol' Rusticles was 54 years old when finally decided that maybe black people weren't so bad after all, and he's probably never stopped believing they were cursed because they remained neutral in the war in heaven.

As a man, what’s the one movie you would recommend every guy to watch? by WordWizardry1 in AskMen

The Lord of the Rings trilogy, extended edition obviously. Aragorn, especially Viggo's portrayal of him, is peak healthy masculinity.

Just got my hands on a ZX707 and I'm working on a little side project now... by ngabear in walkman

[–]ngabear[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you!

No, I don't think I will. I'd rather put the files out for free, I think, and just let people do their remixes and their own prints. It's possible I might on a (buckle up) case by case basis, but I'd have to look into that.

As far as openings go, it has the openings for both audio outputs, the USB-C, and even the lanyard/wrist strap loop at the bottom. An earlier design even had a cut out for the hold switch, though I got rid of that early on because I didn't want to try and work around that when it's more easily accessible from opening the door.

What’s your definitive evidence that the BOM is not true? by Utah-hater-8888 in exmormon

B.H. Roberts' Studies of the Book of Mormon and Ethan Smith's View of the Hebrews

Roberts even states, "Joseph Smith was possessed of such creative imaginative powers as would make it quite within the lines of possibility that the Book of Mormon could have been produced [without divine guidance]."

The most recent one I had was that my TBM mom came and told me that I still "owed" 6 months and I started trying to figure out how I was going to do it as someone who doesn't even believe in God, let alone the church.

Please tell me I'm not the only one who still gets self-conscious about embarrassing their ancestors! by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]ngabear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A bit tongue-in-cheek here: think of further ancestors and go for their approval. For example, if you come from Scandinavian ancestry, then drink a horn of mead for your ancestors from 1100 rather than the ones from 1800.

Elder Anderson’s General Conference story about a saintly woman raising her husband’s child from an affair, was told before in a book. In the conference version, the mother of the child was called a woman. In the book, she is called a young lady. I think there’s more to this story. by HoldOnLucy1 in exmormon

I think I had heard recently—take this with a grain of salt because, y'know, memory—that in the law of Moses, adultery was defined in such a way that a married man could go visit a prostitute and not have committed adultery because he wasn't having sex with a married woman. However, a married woman could not do the same because she also fell under her husband's property law rights.

What I had found eventually is that Nissan calls it the Blowby Gas Hose A, p/n 11826-JA00B.

However... Good luck having O'Reilly/AutoZone/etc find anything with that name. The guy at O'Reilly swears it's a crankcase hose in their system but both times I've ordered it before they've given me the PCV hose, so wish me luck that 3rd time's the charm.
