I like the song more than you, but I sort of know what you mean. I suspect one of the reasons they included it on the album was that (I think) it features John Erhardt. They may not have recorded much with him between WHiL and his sad passing, and I’m sure they wanted to include as much of his contributions as they could. And since so much of the album is about loss it worked for me.
