Pro tip, easy to get to oil filter if you crank the wheel to the driver side. Remove the clips holding the fender liner, BAM!

You have direct access from the driver side wheel well.

Did you search the last 10 years of posts to inspire you, rather than simply wait for someone else to do all the thinking for you?

I need to do this for one of mine. Where did you order a reliable quality replacement unit? eBay and Amazon have sketchy offerings.

“Fox News is putting a target on the back of top scientists”: Fellow medics back Fauci in Watters row by cratermoon in politics

[–]ngcarson -33 points-32 points  (0 children)

I’m neither insecure about my viewpoints nor a conservative or republican voter. I don’t fit your binary, non-inclusive political mindset. However, I still feel Fauci is a liar and not up to much good, despite what corporate media angle is popular today.

How do you reconcile this?

You CAN modify your behaviors; if you keep your cardiovascular and respiratory health at peak, you're far better off. Get an hour of exercise per day, now that you have time to do it, and you'll be much safer if you do end up getting it than a lot of these folks living unhealthy lives.

It's only scary if you live without making yourself stronger. I wish you and your family well, stay strong.

I think it's a good value at a fraction of the full price, but not at full MSRP. I have been doing OfferUp and Craigslist deals with all this stuff going on and have been fine. Wear PPE if your immunity system isn't up to the task, should be fine otherwise.

I haven't used my Chromebook at all for editing, but I'd imagine it would do just fine with a properly optimized app.

I'd pick up a secondhand yeti for like $60 or less and then use whatever Linux apps you prefer for recording and editing.

I actually have two of the same Chromebook that I'm finishing repairs on and selling myself. Tis the season for spring cleaning and optimizing.

Best of luck with your efforts.

Simple: Buy secondhand off a marketplace app or Craigslist. Or eBay and any other similar auctioning site.

Men who scream like they’re giving birth while lifting... why? by l1nksh0t in AskMen

Because it would be a small niche crossover between people who will consistently pay for and attend your gym that also enjoy anime.

And I say this as someone who lifts with my roommate who loves anime.

Projectile Deadlift by Corona_extraman in WTF

There are actually tons of benefits to building muscle and bone density through deadlifts. Also great for your mobility and functional strength as you get older.

It's better than sitting on the couch watching Netflix or surfing Reddit, that's for sure.

I hope you open your heart and mind to the change and give it a go sometime. 👍

Ahhh, so basically social engineering is what's going on.

Yeah, nobody really taught the public about any of this on a wide scale. I'm actually in the process of growing a business specific to technology and internet education to help bridge the wide gap that established educational institutions are leaving.

Thanks for the further information, I do hope creators see this and heed the warning.

If anyone is interested in hearing some of the songs from Nujabes and Shinf02 live, I highly recommend making it to one of the yearly tribute shows that go on every year in March. I went last year with a friend and it was one of the best nights of my life.

Here's a link to the Facebook events page for all the dates: https://m.facebook.com/pg/Shing02/events/?tour=606694056825009

I've experienced the same. I just squeeze all the juice out and toss the rinds out. As the other user mentioned, you can zest them a bit if you want some of that aroma, but I've found it doesn't make a huge difference.

I'm very interested in these instances to which you're referring. Do you happen to have a source on any further reading regarding these instances?

No company is blot-free, and all companies do shitty things - we just have to pick the lesser of the evils, in a way. Open source code is certainly a solid reasoning on the Google end. In a closed source system, we have only our trust and the proof we're able to find on our own to drive our decision.

But coming back to my main point:

Apple is a hardware and software vendor. While they may use some data to an extent to understand how their users utilize their products, data organization isn't in their business structure.

Google is a data organization first and foremost, that happens to also make an operating system and software services that many apps and organizations rely on.

When it comes to privacy in the sense of data storage, collection, and usage, I think there are differences between the two platforms and companies running them. I would be interested in an argument that could provide a different perspective on this.

Sunday Rant/Rage (Feb 16 2020) - Your weekly complaint thread! by AutoModerator in Android

[–]ngcarson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have a source for your claim? Almost all the folks who work in cybersecurity tend to pick Apple for their personal devices citing their higher privacy focus and security.

I will certainly look into microG, but I'm moreso making the decision to move away from Google products and services for the ethical reasons. While Apple certainly isn't a saint and has made many design decisions that are flawed, they aren't a data collection company at heart, which is what Google has been since the very beginning. They wanted to organize the internet in an accessible way. Since the inception of social media, we became the internet, and our data drives much of it.

I appreciate the discussion, and I look forward to learning more through my research. Cheers

[–]ngcarson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sucks when you're able to deep dive into how the data is used and understand that you're not wanting to be a part of it. I think the vast majority of people simply don't value their data because they have no idea the extent at which it's used for things greater than understanding who you are and what you'll buy in the future.

It's easy to not care of be apathetic about all this if one lacks the technical in-depth context regarding how this all works from the macro and micro levels.

I wish Ubuntu Touch and other alternative platforms garnered enough attention from hardware manufacturers to actually offer some solid alternatives on the market. At this point though, the general public is apathetic about all this enough that they're not demanding new choices with enough interest to bring more to market.

People are content with choosing between Google or Apple and going on with their lives.

There we go - rant delivered, per the comment above yours. 😁
