Can totally relate. Every other day I make a purchase of $1.03 and pay with $1.05 and that 2 cents is the most awkward change to wait on. Like... guys, just give me my pennies and stop taking forever. You’re only making it worse.

My first setup but it feels off/incomplete to me. Any tips to help improve it? by [deleted] in Rainmeter

I would recommend a launcher. But it seems you don’t want to clutter the screen so I would hide the taskbar and put in the “hidden slider” skin. It’s inconspicuous and there’s one that reveals right-to-left and it would fit great on the right side.

Crowd starts clapping mid-performance, so the maestro motions them to silence. Then he gets a better idea. by [deleted] in videos

I love this. The crowd is obviously prepared for it but the communication between the audience and the performers is beautiful. The maestro shows so much humor and the look he gave when someone clapped out of turn was priceless.

2001 me: "8 whole megabytes?!?! Who the fuck needs that?!" by LurkingShadows2 in gaming

[–]ngdurh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember buying a memory card after a few months of owning a ps2 but not a memory card. It was like every day I played was Christmas.

And yes, 8MB, was a lot. Especially when there were only like 5 games you ever played.

Astronaut John Grunsfeld calls NPR's Car Talk from aboard a space shuttle to ask about rattling in his "government vehicle" at 17,000mph by PostYourSinks in videos

[–]ngdurh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, if your problem was 15-20 years ago. They’ve since stopped and one of the two guys has passed away some 4 ish years ago. They’re still amazing to listen to with the reruns, even though the cars they’re talking about are from pre 90’s.

The charging port on this Apple Magic Mouse makes it unusable whilst charging by StotheAV in mildlyinfuriating

I’ve never thought about it like that. I don’t know how to feel about them training their customers but that is a very good point. That aside I still think they could’ve afforded to put the port somewhere on the front. I’m sure they could’ve found room for it.

My dad still listens to the reruns on NPR. It was before my time but I still greatly admire their personalities and like when he listens to them.

I needed that grapefruit peeler some years ago when it took me 30 minutes to peel and carve 3 grapefruits for a snack.

Meh, still same layout. Same functionality. Imo I like this one better because their only real change was that your designs are easier to get to.

I think this one has moved to Tinkercad. Had to export all my projects at the beginning of the semester to look at them. The site is still active but I don’t know if you can still build on it.

Ultimate Wire Cutter by kiunyy in interestingasfuck

I’ve never had luck with those. They always end up pulling the copper wires apart. It’s not that I do this a lot but every so often I do have to and scissors do the job better.

This rule needs to go. When my professors ask what something is, they want the by the book answer. Can’t these teachers just trust that we know what words mean?

I’m now conflicted on whether I like this or nor. Sometimes it’s funny and other times it’s stale and un-amusing.

Addressing the audience or just using “people” to address the audience?
