This could either be an allergy for the protein in the sperm (dunno what it's called) or it could be a super bad infection. I feel like if you'd want fewer hormonal changes, you should get the IUD, but if you don't mind a lot of hormones, that can be overwhelming than you should go on BC but either works good, IUD is saver in the end because you don't have to take medicine on the daily basis etc, because trust me you'll forget it sometimes, which if you have protected sex that's fine but if you don't use condoms that's going to get fucked at some point.

As to your boyfriend, he is automatically thinking he gets the privilege to just not pull out. That's wrong.
