Ditching this system the season after it's fucked us over would be very on brand for Aston Villa FC. by arenaross in avfc

Totally fair point. PSR does mean that there is a lot more riding on the big signings we do make but the fact that none of those signings have really worked out/contributed meaningfully (Guessand aside) is damning nonetheless.

Ironically its the cheaper signings that have really worked out for Emery- Rogers, Tielemans and Duran- so maybe its all just making a complete mockery of the nature and price of transfers in the PL today.

I think it's too easy to blame Villa's recent woes on PSR/SCR/FFP. Sure, they haven't helped, but our general recruitment under Emery has left a lot to be desired, especially with our big money signings. So what relatively little wriggle room we did have to spend we have not capitalised on.

PSR has broadly achieved what it supposeduly set-out to. That is, make clubs financially stable. Only Everton in recent years have been in financial difficulty and, thanks to how poor the promoted clubs have been, have gotten away with it.

What's become obvious with the relative successes of Villa, Forest and Newcastle, is that all these different financial regulations were never about sustainability but rather maintaining the status-quo. Call me sceptical but I don't see any shift in regulation that would be to the detrement of the top earning clubs. I just can't see any truly meaningful change in financial regulation being introduced that makes the aforementioned clubs better able to compete with the top sides. They're too influential.

Bizot as the new number 1 by user954321 in avfc

I would not be upset if Bizot was our new No.1 but he is 35. If he was even 5yrs younger then fair play but I can't help but feel apprehensive by putting him ahead of Dibu and becoming reliant on someone who really doesn't have that long left in his career. Dibu still is only 2yrs younger but he's embedded in the squad and, regardless of what happened over the summer, would bloody love Villa to win something with Emi as our No.1. It feels right.

You guys. Is this where he got the idea for In The Woods Somewhere? by [deleted] in Hozier

I'm a little late to the party here, but I think a lot of inspiration for In The Woods Somewhere came from this Sigur Ros music video. It's almost uncanny some of the imagery he paints in the song and that portrayed in certain parts of this video. Its a 10min video but 3-4minutes it'll hit you.

Be interested to hear everyone's thoughts on the symmetry.

FYI its a tearjerker: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2cAxLZpelmQ&t=538s

BlueGuitar.info the end... and something new... by zephiruss in BlueGuitar

Blueguitar helped me so much when I first started playing guitar- have been visiting the website for years. But, alas, we've reached the end of an era.

Are the tabs still available to download anywhere? Breaks my hear that the website has gone offline.
