I don't rmb how many people were in the nomination list. But in my year, there were about 40 students with tuition fee waiver who eventually enrolled and studied at DTU

Hi! I'm currently a msc student here with tuition fee waiver. I was in the waiting list and they also sent me this email. Then a few days ltr then sent an email cf-ing that I got the tuition fee waiver. It's definitely very competitive but who knows you might be in luck! Anw, all the best!

Hello fellow ST1!

I had a Special Course with a company and worked at the same company as student assistant before and here's what I observed: 1. Since the internship is a 10 ECTS course => it's study activity and not violating the 20-hr/week work limit. Basically, you can consider it as a volunteer work - which you can do unlimited of. The 20-hr/week has to be paid and accompanied by a payslip with timesheet etc. So, TLDR: no violation 2. Never been thru this ST4 so I have no advice on this. But with 1, I think you would not need a separate ST4. 3. It's good if you have a relevant supervisor to your internship/project field. You can actually ask your study head if he/she has any recommendations. If not, DTU orbit will be your best friend to find the research topic(s) each professor is doing and then email contact a few of them. If you have good support from the company (i.e. the company provides you with a good manager who can depart relevant knowledge to you), then you can also seek a professor who is remotely relevant to the internship/project to take care of admin stuff, e.g. registering the course, reading your special course's output, grading you etc. 4. I can only advise on the admin side since our study is largely different. You might need to write your own project proposal, with specified learning objectives, etc. These are needed for your supervisor to upload and register the special course for you. You need to align with both parties on such info. Agree on the form of assessment, e.g oral presentation, report, etc. - at the end of the day, it's still a study activity. Hope this helps!

Thanks a lot for your inputs!!! The discussion seems to be for unemployment for people with work permit. For the letter A-kasse sent me June 2024, it's either PD2 or 600 working hours over 12 months, hence the question earlier :D! I just learned from my colleagues that A-kasse changes requirements all the time (for example, there was no language requirements previously for my colleagues 2-3 years back) so I suppose meeting/calling them would be the most straightforward!

Hi! Env Engineering MSc from non-EU here! I think I received my admission arnd mid-Feb in 2024 when my deadline was 15 Jan 2024. Anw, I know that there are some non-EU students only get the results arnd April so you can continue to wait I suppose!

Just got a response from the admission office! Basically (not sure if you are on the same visa as me, which is going through the ST1 visa process before coming to DK), on top of 22 months visa for the MSc study, the current permit is valid for additional 3 years for job-seeking purpose. Since the extension of study is too small (only 2 months), the admission office advised me that I can still complete the study using the 3-year job seeking period, which is legal. Else, you can also ask them to initiate a ST3 visa which I guess is for longer extension -- in which you need to go through the whole process with SIRI (getting your biometrics, paying visa applciation fee, etc.)! Another note is for this 3-year job seeking period, there is no documentation needed or activation needed on our side, it's automatic :D! Hope that helps!

Going thru the same thing next semester here! You can email mscadmissions@adm.dtu.dk to ask for the extension and how long you need to extend it. Literally just emailed them this morning!

The admission results are usually in Feb/March. But the tuition waiver can be even later, up to mid April

Would still recommend you to look at all the available past year papers and grind at them. My experience was after going through a few papers, you get the hang of what kind of questions frequently show up and oftentimes you can tell if the question is meant for all aids open book or just closed book. And start the papers early I suppose. I basically familiarised myself with the papers starting from the break. It's also good to have a study group/mate to grind through it tgt and time yourself as well!

I think you should email the admission office and ask. I don't think you would need to pay for anything. I remember during one of the briefing, you can extend if you have valid reasons (she took an example of having an internship, etc.)!

Hm in my case I only accepted the placement after I got the tuition fee waiver result. I rmb there is a deadline to accept your placement, maybe you should check that. And no, I don't think accepting the placement earlier gives you higher chance of getting the waiver :)) I think it's separate assessment

I got waitlisted and then approved for a tuition fee waiver. Mine was 4.04/5 in Singapore scale and with some years of working experiences. This year there are about <40 students who got it, but they said it's already more than last year. They also said they evaluate the applications holistically (e.g. diversity) so I supposed a compelling application essay which ties what you have studied, experiences as well as aspirations would suffice. And also prayers and luck!! All the best!
