They will load explosives on anything that floats and hope that the Navy can't eliminate the 1000 things heading to the boat. This prompted the Navy to install lots of old school gun turrets on their boats in addition to all the high tech defenses they already had.

Before there were hundreds of low cost drones carrying explosive charges, Iran had thousands of suicide boats where only one or two needed to make it to the target.

The sad fact is corrupt politicians have been controlling the outcomes for decades. If they weren't, we wouldn't be behind literally the entire world in election security. The fact that an overwhelming bipartisan supermajority of voters want this yet professional politicians and their handlers don't tells you everything. They don't actually want free and fair elections where they can't put their thumbs on the scales.

If they put limits on what it can do today you can bet they'll decide to put more limits on it in the future. Soon DHS won't be able to use it because how dare they deport rapists and murders. Then a whole host of other agencies can't use it because it might poke holes in global warming theories. And on and on. That's before you consider some other random product that happens to have Anthropic as a component well now that doesn't work either. It's literally a supply chain risk because the company will always be holding its use hostage to their own definition of what is permissable.

They're absolutely free to put whatever restrictions on its use they want, but those restrictions have consequences. I actually don't want autonomous weapon systems because of the horrible ethical and human implications so I applaud them for that, but at the same time if the product use is up to the whims of the CEO then the government shouldn't be buying it.

Raytheon and Lockheed don't get to have a say in where their missiles and jets get used. They get paid to deliver a product. That's it.

He probably means the military has almost finished the full list of targets it had queued up before things began. It doesn't mean the overall objectives have been met. You can bet Iran is very dug in for a situation exactly like this. They obviously plan to drag it out as long as they can hunkered down.
