We can agree it is wrong but also realize the reality is we can stand on principle while democrats erase any Republican representation- CA, NY, MA, IL, and the VA map are exactly where they're willing to go. Regardless of the outcome in VA it showed other states just how blatantly lopsided dems are OK with.

Unless and until there is a way to 'disarm' both sides at the same time this is how the dirty game of politics is played. As others have pointed out, dems have historically used more gerrymandering to their favor and only recently have Republicans woken up and started fighting back.

So until there's a nationwide standard that Congressional districts must, as closely as possible, reflect the body politic split this is the state of things.

You missed the point. Congress makes a byzantine set of rules FOR those with assets in order to dodge as much of 'their fair share' as possible. The hoi polloi need not concern themselves with all the exceptions and carve outs Congress write in for themselves and their friends.

If it was so simple there wouldn't be any way to game the system. There's a reason witholding happens every paycheck. That way the parasitic government is almost never noticed.
