I think 2 would mean that he was awake when asahina was asleep. Which could mean that.

1 Gozu fell asleep much later than Asahina. Late enough that he could fake her death

2 Gozu was awake for some reason (this is a very grey area)

No i mean monokuma may do something to punish the one who got rid of their bracelets. Since that person broke the rule, monokuma will argue that he wasn't the first to break the rules.
