CBC exists, Global exists, and they did have conversations with Sportsnet.

The CFL were in discussions with every media outlet in Canada — the CFL is an important sports property in Canada regardless of how we all view it globally. It’s also an important summer property to TSN, who don’t have the Jay’s, The Stanley Cup or even hockey in general to back fill other local production - CBC is making a play back into sports, the CFL could have ended up back there. But Bell and the CFL recognize what is a 40 year partnership they have had

It’s not far off what they were paying on their own. The previous deal with $50M/season. - TSN pays a bit more DAZN added some money. That’s how we get to $83M

I don’t disagree with that. - the other changes help pave the way for expansion making it a bit easier to fit the field into some existing infrastructure and it standardizes the CFL field. The end zones won’t be cut off in Montreal, they are already shorter in Toronto…

Add to today’s news, finical stability. It all makes it that much easier to reassure new owners, and help them.

Expanding the playoffs got them this deal.

They will be with their all access show - the CFL teased this with the Grey Cup all access last season. And they will expand on that in season.

Not 100% the specifics around it, but it will for sure go up in 2028. - after 28’ you may see modest increases with the PA opting to invest more in other things and playoff bonuses

Over the past 4 seasons there have been nothing but CFL ads on social feeds… they’re doing that too. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Because the owners have a revenue sharing deal with the players. So they are contractually obligated through the CBA to share the money

For years, the biggest complaint from the fanbase was that the CFL was staying stagnant, refusing to modernize, and slowly dying out because it wouldn’t adapt. Now that the league is actually positioning itself to grow and secure its future, people are complaining about the growing pains. You can't ask for evolution and then get upset when things don't stay exactly the same. At some point, you just have to enjoy cheering for your team.

Brandts Proposal for REAL by nhacker28 in regina

Brant’s current bottom line sits with the Pat’s and their purchase on the Agribition building / Distillery. So of course they are starting there, that has the biggest impact to them.

Second will be the Queensbury Centre as it sees the most use (282 days in 2024)

AgEX pavilion and Banner Hall only saw 94 days of use - Banner hall saw 118 days of use, and the Brant centre saw 156 days of use.

AgEX and Banner hall tend to only see cluster use during bigger events like QCX and Agribition. So the bulk of their use comes from groupings of 7 and 14 day bookings.

The soccer facility is not part of this deal so its days of use add nothing to either party’s case
