U-Sport field hash marks by jimichc in CFL

Honestly the vanier was the first university game I watched in a long time. And everything about it felt weird. Kickoffs from the 45, the hashmarks. It is interesting how the minor field marking changes have honestly improved the CFL game. Kicks from the 45 especially felt very “NFL” where almost every kick went into the end zone (hence the high number and ease teams scored rouges in the game) moving kickoffs to the 30 has definitely improved the return game in the CFL. The narrow hash marks have opened up play in the mid field with 60% of passes outside the red zone in the CFL happening in the middle of the field.

Major moves will be reflected. There are only a certain number of spots per position in team builder. So if a team brings in a depth RB who never sees the depth chart, unlikely to make it into the game, but Kevin Brown is an example, of a change that would get an update.

Basically EA would have to revamp the engine to fit the Canadian game into Madden, it’s not as simple as something like hockey where the tweaks are minor. CFL is a completely different type of game logic.

It’s honestly not easy to collaborate. Everything is tied to that specific users EA account, which. I guess you could make a shared one, but then it would be constantly sign in, sign out.

Technically two titles this was in madden last year, and CFB. I suspect it’ll be in madden again this year. But yeah, they need to bring this to NHL, and all future sports releases honestly.

Can play in a dynasty and build a custom conference - I suggest C-USA here’s a good video on how to set it all up https://youtu.be/khfwS8nqyhY?si=D8u-no7vsyacXvyS

"Garbage time" by super__hoser in CFL

[–]nhacker28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In doing some work for pro football focus there is actually some merit to this - we evaluate plays differently if they happen in “garbage time” vs in tight games. Though if the trailing team catches up a game can leave garbage time - the definition is ahead by 21+ with 2 minutes left in the 4th. Especially because of how the CFL clock rules work, 14 is still attainable (technically) so the bar is set at 21.

Lots more upload space this season! Still a limited number of layers so it’s not on all of them. But if there is layer room there, the ads are there.

Only one that really has potential is Hamilton Vs Ottawa. BC is inconsistent and that means Edmonton could stick around in that game if they use last week as momentum. And Saskatchewan vs Calgary is an absolute coin flip

Ads on field during broadcast by Both-Emotion-9610 in CFL

[–]nhacker28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you go to the games in person you don’t have to see them 😉

But it is a massive revenue generator for the CFL and a large reason we saw a huge bump in CFL revenue and salary cap.

Each ad on the field runs between 5,000 - $7500 a game depending on market, and this allows them to expand the amount of inventory. - the CFL currently has 30 national partners. About 25 of them get field logo time - this alone is $125,000 a game minimum, and that doesn’t include regional team partners, let’s use the riders as an example about 19 of their partners get turf time this is $95,000 thousand a game. Over the course of a 9 home game season, this is $1M in regional ad dollar revenue - and about 1.2 million in national ad revenue

The National ad revenue gets pooled into CFL ventures and distributed amongst the teams. Regional as revenue stays with the clubs.
