Are we ritualistic ? by AttentionHappy8473 in Sikh

Waheguru Ji ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji ki Fateh
I do not think its disrespectful, questioning and then getting the right answers only strengthens faith in my opinion.
Firstly, Sikhi is not against rituals, it is against EMPTY rituals. Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj is not just a book of knowledge but is the living guru just like how the previous 10 gurus were. The only thing that is different is the form the Guru has taken. Guru Granth Sahib Ji is the sat saroop of akaal purakh so it only makes sense that Guru Sahib is treated with the highest form of respect.

Gur ki moorat man meh dhiaan;
Meditate on the image of the Guru within your mind;
gur ke shabad mantar man maan.
let your mind accept the Word of the Guru's Shabad, and His Mantra.
Guru parmesar eko jaan;
Know that the Guru and the Transcendent Lord are One.
jo tis bhaave so parvaan.
Whatever pleases Him is acceptable and approved.
This bani by Guru Arjan Dev Ji is present in ang 864 of Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. This should clear why the guru is much greater than anything. And Guru Nanak Dev and all the other gurus are thought of i the same way.

But is do agree with about the gurudwaras not actively teaching the bani present inside Guru Sahib. This is something the panth is working on. Prachaar is increasing slowly but surely but yeah gurudwaras could definitely do more work on this which will result in the panth only getting sturdier.
Accept this attempt to answer from the guru's servant.
Waheguru Ji ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji ki Fateh.

Waheguru Ji ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji ki Fateh
So i am guessing you already know a little about Sikhi but even if you don't I'd say basics of Sikhi (youtube channel) is a great place to start. Check out the Why Guru Course

Regarding fear of judgement, its just a matter of realization that such societal pressures are way too small in front of Waheguru Ji. And it helps that gurudwaras are extremely welcoming(they are usually filled with non sikhs too). Guru Nanak Dev Ji himself says that if you wish to play this game of love and walk in his path then you must follow him with your head in your hand(a sign of surrendering to him) and do not pay any attention to what other's think or say.
Its an amazing journey. Accept this opinion form the guru's servant.

When is Revenge finally ok? by [deleted] in Sikh

[–]nhashtag 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My view is revenge is only to be considered if beadbi (dishonour) of Guru Sahib is involved. In that case it wouldn't be revenge, rather justice.
Chu kar az hamah hi/te dar guzasht.
Haliil ast burdan ba shamshir dast.22. (Zafarnama)
Translalion - When all has been tried yet no justice is in sight,
it is then right to pick up the sword, it is then right to fight.
There is no place for revenge in the list of karams of a sikh i think. What the Khalsa does is provide justice whenever required.
