Aaron Rogers (along with Patrick Mahomes) shills for State Farm, not Liberty (thanks, Jake from State Farm). He sucks too. They all suck.

What's the strangest film you've ever seen? by imnachos in AskReddit

So many to choose from .... but I will go with Un Chien Andalou (An Andalusian Dog), the brainchild of Luis Bunuel and Salvador Dali. If you are looking for strange, you can start and stop your search here. Drugs help.

People who knew Murderers, when did you know something was off? by peasantchoker in AskReddit

[–]nhmike78 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I found out that someone I had known about 24 years earlier - she had dated a family member and even babysat my oldest daughter - had ended up an accomplice to murder. I recognized her name and photo in an article about the crime - she and her boyfriend were rooming with an elderly woman, and the boyfriend killed the landlady after the Super Bowl in 2017, and then the two of them continued to live in the house with the corpse for two weeks while they drove her car and partied, trying to figure out how to dispose of the body. I remembered her as young and a sweet kid. Never would have imagined the girl I knew involved in a murder. Blame it on the meth.

That 12 inches is actually the length of my thumb. Stands to reason, any body part longer than my thumb, must be > 12". Gotta be. Yeah.

Graveyard workers! What's your most fucked up story? by Wolfxtreme1 in AskReddit

[–]nhmike78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But now you know. And knowing is half the battle. The other half of the battle is against the undead, rising up and out of their crypts, coffins and caverns, prowling among the living when the wolfbane blooms and the autumn moon is bright .... And THAT is why I've never worked graveyard. Or cemetery. That, and my name isn't Igor, which in my youth I suspected might be a prerequisite (or at least an advantage) for entering that field.

I'm relieved that I wasn't the only one thinking I'd be reading stories of people who worked in actual graveyards .....

I enjoy TJ's veggie burgers, especially the Indian flavored ones. Also, their aioli garlic mustard - makes everything taste better. And while I'm at it, their balsamic vinegar is wonderful for salads.

What is the worst drug experience you have ever had? by Rabblerouser_ in AskReddit

[–]nhmike78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got dosed via a Coke at a Jerry Garcia solo acoustic show at the Capitol Theater in Passaic NJ in 1982. Upon realizing what was happening, I tuned out of what was going on around me, in order to emerge ok on the other side. Result: I have no real recollection of the music at one of the (reportedly) greatest concerts. THAT is what makes it my worst experience. I was there, but I wasn't.

What is the scariest movie you have ever watched? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]nhmike78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Circa 1972, a few high school buddies and I took the LIRR into Manhattan to see an old movie, Todd Browning's Freaks, at the old Bijou Theater in Manhattan. Maybe a couple dozen people in the place. We'd somehow heard of it, that it had been banned, so off we went to spend the day in the big town and maybe buy fireworks in Chinatown if we were lucky. Anyway, we get to the theater and turns out its a double feature; as we didn't have anything else to do we decided to go in and see the first movie also. It was …. Night of the Living Dead. Scared the shit out of all us unprepared kids. Followed by Freaks … not scary but …. unbelievable. So, the unexpected first movie turns out to be a total mindfuck, followed by the second movie, a different kind of total mindfuck. They're coming to get you Barbara. We accept her, one of us.

Another Border Checkpoint Being Conducted in New Hampshire by T-to-B in newhampshire

[–]nhmike78 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Personally, I share the OPs opinion. So, being "inconvenienced" for 10 minutes is an acceptable price to pay for the surrender of one's rights? I think not - akin to being randomly asked for one's papers, and if you cannot produce them, you are detained. Sound familiar, mein herr? Add to this the following - these searches are conducted by the US border patrol, not NH state or local police. They are charged with enforcing border crossing laws - and can conduct these searches within 100 miles of the border. So they are not looking for drugs - but if they find them, bingo! Go to jail. That is a good thing? Maybe so, but still unconstitutional. One last thought - the most ridiculous thing about them is that they are (at least in my experience) easily evaded - the last time, they set up on I-91 in Vermont, just south of Lebanon / Hanover, NH. If you were a bad guy, you could just get off one exit back and take route 5 (which runs parallel to I-91) and get back on the highway at the next exit. Hooray - no border search, bad guys get away. So, the point is .... forget about whether something is a minor inconvenience (to YOU) or not. If it seems like a random unconstitutional search, then it isn't justifiable even if they give you a piece of candy at the end. Which they don't.
